You may not always recognize the role a nonprofit plays in your everyday life, but its impact may be closer than you think.

At Children’s Health Foundation, we’re grateful to play a part in improving the health of children across Oklahoma. Through support of pediatric care, research, education and programs that help children and families, we work alongside dedicated healthcare professionals, community partners and generous supporters to make a difference.

Sometimes that difference happens behind the scenes. Sometimes it shows up in a new resource for a family, a breakthrough in research or better care for a child who needs it.

No matter what it looks like, we’re honored to be part of the work being done to help Oklahoma’s children thrive.

You may not always see Children's Health Foundation, but thanks to the generosity of our supporters, you can see the impact of what we do together.

“He is getting his childhood back.”

For children with selective mutism, speaking in certain situations can feel overwhelming, even with people they love. The Mighty Mouth Intensive Program helps children build confidence and find their voices through supportive activities and hundreds of opportunities to practice speaking in a safe, encouraging environment.

For one 9-year-old boy, the impact was incredible. After participating in the program, his family shared this emotional update:

“I don’t know what y’all did yesterday, but today for the first time in his 9 years he talked to his great grandparents!! They had a fear they would die before speaking to him. He also spoke to my stepdad, whom he hasn’t spoken to in 4 years. I just can’t believe it! He is like a different kid. It’s like something just clicked for him.”

The progress continued when he started school. His family shared that he talked to teachers, new classmates, his coach and other adults, celebrating how much more comfortable he had become communicating with others.

“Thank you, guys, so much for everything you have done to help him! I am forever grateful. He is getting his childhood back!”

Children’s Health Foundation is proud to support Sooner SUCCESS and the Mighty Mouth Intensive Program, funded by a grant from the Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma. Thanks to this generous support, children with selective mutism can access specialized programming that helps them find their voices, build meaningful connections and experience the joys of childhood with greater confidence.

Every brave voice matters.

When a child depends on a tracheostomy and ventilator, knowing how to respond in an emergency can be lifesaving.

Thanks to a $10,000 grant from the Robert Glenn Rapp Foundation, Children’s Health Foundation is supporting emergency simulation training for families participating in the Pathway to Home program.

Using high-fidelity simulation mannequins, caregivers practice responding to life-threatening situations like blocked tracheostomy tubes and ventilator failures, building the skills and confidence to act quickly when it matters most.

Families have reported that this training has helped them respond during real-life emergencies after returning home. One mother shared that when her child’s tracheostomy became blocked and they couldn’t breathe, she immediately performed an emergency trach change using the skills she had practiced in simulation. She said she felt confident because she had successfully handled the same scenario during training.

And the work continues. More families will receive this specialized training, helping them feel prepared and confident to care for their children safely at home.

CHF is proud to support programs that give families the tools they need when every second counts.
