🗣️We are calling on our community members to become conscious consumers this holiday season! FLM and our partners have put together a Small is Beautiful Oklahoma Holiday Guide 2025. This guide is FLM’s answer to the We Ain't Buying It boycott. It includes a list of vendors for shopping small, local holiday markets, mutual aid and community organizations, and other resources to help you put a portion of your holiday shopping towards local communities instead of large corporations. Most major corporations make nearly 20% of their annual sales during the time between Black Friday and Cyber Monday. That’s billions of dollars within a week towards corporations like Target, Amazon, and Home Depot. What we can do as a community is take our money and spend it in local economies that align with our humanity. We are asking for intention, not perfection. Even if 10% of your holiday shopping goes towards small or local businesses, that’s still 10% that won’t go towards corporations that have been attacking DEI, colluding with ICE, union busting, and funding an administration that has been benefiting big corporations. IDT is volunteering their time and resources to collaborate with OAO for another fundraiser self defence workshop, this time over edged weapons. “The Inclusive Defense Training Edged Weapons class is an introductory course designed to give people who choose not to carry a pistol a viable defensive option or give those who normally carry a concealed pistol an alternate defense option if they venture into areas where carrying their pistols is illegal or impractical.” - IDT website At our last event, we raised $1,100 for families in need in Gaza. 📢 MARCH FOR HUMANITY: SAVE GAZA Join Oklahomans Against Occupation in demanding an immediate end to the ongoing genocide and the deliberate starvation of more than two million Palestinians in Gaza. The event begins at 10:00 AM with a gathering in the park, followed by a peaceful march through downtown Tulsa. Participants will then return to the park for a rally featuring powerful speakers, calls to action, and opportunities to engage in sustained advocacy. 🎤 Speakers include: • Talal Ali Khan, MD – Consultant Nephrologist, Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at OU, who volunteered on medical missions in Gaza with the Palestinian-American Medical Association, the World Health Organization, and the United Nations • Mr. Houssam Elsoueissi – Son of Nakba survivors, Palestinian refugee, business owner of over 30 years, and prominent member of the Islamic Society of Tulsa • Onikah Asamoa-Caesar – Owner of Fulton Street Books & Coffee • Brittany McKane – Citizen of the Mvskoke (Creek) Nation, community organizer for Native youth, Indigenous rights advocate • Vivian Jaber – Palestinian organizer with Oklahomans Against Occupation • Erica Watkins – U.S. Army Veteran, public education activist, and candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives for Oklahoma’s 1st congressional district 🅿️ Free public street parking on Saturdays 🚨 Security will be present by @okoccupation
