1 year on… 💫
A year ago, we welcomed the first cohort of Film FORWARDS, Big Team’s development programme supporting four filmmakers with an interest in both the festival and TV industries.

Working alongside @forwardsbristol, @channel4skills, @clockwise.film @filmsat59 and many other collaborators in our network - the cohort have spent the past year developing their skills, connections and confidence, while exploring the different paths they can take in their careers.

Along the way, they’ve also built friendships and a community that we’re proud to see grow.

This is a throwback to their first festival with us last summer and it’s been amazing to see how far they’ve come since then.

Now, with just 10 days to go until FORWARDS 2026, we can’t wait to welcome them back! 💚

You’ll spot @izzyaishafilm @oksobotie @mariarov and @stella.jordan.film filming across the site with our media teams, as well as their very own documentary being showcased in the Interactive Area.

More to come… stay tuned!

Last summer at @forwardsbristol, the Film FORWARDS crew got to experience high-quality kit thanks to our collaborators @sony.unitedkingdom and @filmsat59 🎥

In this bite-sized documentary, @oksobotie takes you behind the scenes to see how access to this equipment supported the Film FORWARDS experience on site - capturing the festival, with the space to experiment and develop new technical skills along the way ✨ by @oksobotie
