I help founders build names and identities they won’t outgrow.

A lot of founders think building from their personal name means using it directly. Not always.

In Episode 1 of Name to Brand — Women’s Edition, Season 2, I broke down Chisom for a clarity and growth platform for women.
That changed the naming direction completely.

Instead of forcing Chisom into the brand, I asked a better question: What world behind her identity should the brand preserve?

That led us from:
Chisom
to Ezeilo (her maiden surname)
to Zeilo

Zeilo became the stronger platform name because it carries the deeper world behind Ezeilo:
leadership
community
guidance
the public square
women finding clarity together

Would you have used Chisom directly… or built the brand from the world behind her name?

Comment your instinct before you swipe through everything.

A lot of people think building a personal brand means placing their name on everything.
Not always.

In Episode 3 of Name to Brand; Women’s Edition, Season 2, I broke down Dr. Ijeoma Omenugha for a brand focused on ambitious womanhood.

The challenge was bringing:
Dr. Ijeoma Omenugha, The Lady Doctor, Ambitious Mums Tribe into one clear system.

So I asked:
What is the name actually pointing to?
Ijeoma means:
Good Journey.

That gave us more than a personal name.
It gave us the philosophy behind the entire brand.

Dr. Ijeoma Omenugha became the master brand.
The Good Journey became the central idea.

The Lady Doctor was repositioned.
Ambitious Mums Tribe became Ambitious Mums Club.

Would you have continued with The Lady Doctor… or built the wider brand around Dr. Ijeoma Omenugha?

Comment your instinct before you swipe.

A lot of founders think building from their personal name means using it directly.

Not always.

In Episode 2 of Name to Brand; Women’s Edition, Season 2, I broke down Yemisi for a home fragrance brand.

That changed the naming direction completely.

Instead of forcing Yemisi to carry the whole brand, I asked a better question:

What is the name actually pointing to?

That led us from:

Yemisi
to WÍWÀ (Presence)

WÍWÀ became the stronger masterbrand name because it carries the deeper world behind her identity:

presence
softness
atmosphere
memory
the art of being felt

Yemisi was not rejected.

It was positioned.

Would you have used Yemisi directly… or built the brand from the world behind her name?

Comment your instinct before you swipe through everything.

What would you call a men’s care brand if the name had to come from "Kwame Ofori-Atta"?

Hold that thought. Then swipe to see where I took it.

Can your name work as a brand?

For the next edition of Name to Brand, I’m selecting 7 men from different cultures and examining each name the way I would in a real naming consultation.

Some names should remain exactly as they are.
Some need a descriptor.
Some need to be refined.

Want your name considered?

Comment with:

— Your name
— What you’re building

Know a man whose name could become a powerful brand? Tag him below.

Selections are now open.

When I started the "Name to Brand" series, the goal was to break down the mechanics of naming in brand building. Today, I took those exact frameworks from the screen to the stage.

Teaching the anatomy of naming at @harvesters.anthony @hsap.anthony @hsap.ng , using my own case studies as the proof of concept.

This day still feels unreal to me! From Instagram carousels to an actual live stage?

I spent years breaking down my life's work into slide decks on instagram, but actually teaching it live on stage to this incredible audience was a whole new level.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
Grateful to @hsap.anthony @hsap.ng for the platform, and shoutout to my brother and friend John Maduforo for being the channel through which I got to connect with the amazing organizers of this wonderful platform. by @ola_asani

I lost my father not long after I was born.
In fact, one of my names is Babatunde, meaning “Father has returned.”

His absence became one of the first ways life taught me the value of presence.

I learned much of what strength, resilience, responsibility, and sacrifice looked like from my mother, who raised my siblings and me as a widow through some very difficult years. Through her, I saw the courage to keep going when life gives you very little to work with.

But some lessons about becoming a man were never spoken to me. I had to discover them through observation, experience, and reflection.

One of them is this:
Never apply a rule without understanding the conditions that made it work.

Becoming a man is not simply about inheriting rules or copying what other men have done. It is also about understanding what those rules were created to protect, produce, or prevent.

Happy Father’s Day. by @ola_asani

I shot this video for two reasons.
First, to prove to myself that I’m no longer hiding from the camera.
Second, to explain why I started the Name to Brand series.

Most people don’t know how much power a name carries until the wrong name starts limiting the brand. That is the core reason behind this series.

This is not just content for me. It is part of the work I’m learning to stand in more boldly.

So yes, this video is about naming. But it is also about showing up.

Can your personal name actually become a brand?

Season 2 of Name to Brand begins now.

For Women’s Edition, I’ll be breaking down more real names like a naming consultation:

what the name already carries.
what kind of brand it could fit.
whether it should stay as it is, take a descriptor, or be refined.

This season, eight names are on the table:

Chisom.
Yemisi.
Sharon.
Kate.
Bukunmi.
Fatima.
Yolanda.
Gift.

More names will enter mid-season.

Episode 1 drops May 5.
First name: Chisom.

Do you think Chisom works as a brand?

Comment below. And drop a name if you want me to test yours next. by @ola_asani
