Last weekend I attended GigConnect 1.0 by @gigbanc and it was an eye-opener in every sense. The speakers, the sessions, the networking, everything was just perfect.

One of the highlights for me was getting to speak with Mr Adebola Afolabi
I asked him a question that I believe many people in tech can relate to

“Should I continue being a Jack of all trades, learning multiple skills,
or should I focus on just one and master it deeply?”

He gave such a thoughtful response that really shifted how I see growth.

But that wasn’t all.
Every speaker at GigConnect 1.0 brought something insightful

One speaker talked about personal branding not just logos or colors, but how we present ourselves, how we speak, and how we show up, our social media presence and concentrating on a couple of social media platforms instead of trying to be everywhere

Another speaker emphasized the importance of embracing AI how it’s no longer the future but the present, and we need to learn to use it smartly in everything we do.

I also learned how to approach job hunting differently not just the usual Fiverr or Upwork routes, but through other freelance platforms that most people don’t even know about.

One major point that stuck with me was about knowing when to leave a job.
When your work no longer challenges you, when every day feels like a repeat, when there’s no excitement or motivation that’s when it’s time to move on.

Another speaker talked about how no matter how skilled you are, always stay humble and respectful. Especially here in Africa, people value respect even more than talent and it often opens doors your skills alone can’t.

About a week ago, I attended GITEX NIGERIA - The Largest Tech & Startup Event in West Africa and it was such an amazing experience.

The exhibition was nothing short of beautiful showcase of innovation and creativity. GITEX provided a powerful platform for startups to share their products, gain recognition, and connect with the right audience.

This was a big milestone for me because it’s the first tech event I’ve attended since joining the tech industry a few months ago. I had the opportunity to network with brilliant minds, exchange ideas, and get insights about the future of technology in Nigeria and beyond.

My date was absolutely speechless when I walked in 😂❤️

So remember that unforgettable gown I was looking for? I finally found it with Bidbuy, a personal shopper on Bidbuy shopped for me, delivered the gown to my doorstep no hassle all I had to do was sparkle 🤩

Bidbuy isn't just about clothes it's solves a real problem, a pain point shared by many that's why I'm passionate about building Bidbuy so buyers like me can find the right product at the right time without stress

I was getting ready for a date with a very handsome Yoruba man 🙂❤️I wanted the perfect gown, something unforgettable but no matter how many stores I checked I just couldn't find it, what if shopping didn't have to be stressful what if someone could find exactly what I want

Over the last couple of weeks, I have been working on something exciting; Bidbuy is a platform that connects buyers with personal shoppers who can help them find exactly what they need. Buyers simply post a request, receive bids from shoppers, and choose the best offer. Buyers can also shop directly from the platform.

I am working with 2 other product designers, 1 product manager, about 7 frontend dev, 8 backend dev and 2 AI engineers, we don't have experts on the team just young curious minds that yearn for growth and improvement coming together to build a project that allows us make mistakes, correct them redesign, restructure and rebuilt without judgment or criticism and Bidbuy is serving that exact purpose. if i show you the very first landing page design you will acknowledge that there has been growth.

I’m grateful for the process, the people I have met, relationships I am building, the challenges and I’m even more excited to see where Bidbuy goes next. Someone on the team said something about launching well fingers crossed 🤞

Hey I am super excited to share that I just got my UI/UX Certificate from Techy Jaunt

January this year, my journey into UI/UX design started with confusion and unclarity and this certification is proof that I kept going, stayed curious, and embraced the process even when it felt overwhelming.

It’s been a challenging but rewarding ride learning how to think like a designer, understand users, and create better digital experiences.

Hey, I have decided to do a case study on Lovely a dating app. It's a complete project that I am looking forward to adding to my portfolio.
