We’ve got some good news to share:

Error Instruments goes to China! 🇨🇳

All Error Instruments modules will now be available directly in China through BLUR electronix.

We want players here to be able to get their hands on these weird and fun instruments more easily — and at better prices.

Bitiworkshop (Kevin) from Chengdu has been helping and supporting us ever since we first came to China. We’ll continue working closely with Bitiworkshop too, making more fun stuff together.

We’re also planning more workshops and other events through BLUR. If you’ve got an idea for a collaboration, just let us know!

Our next events will be two workshops at Commune in Beijing. You can find all the details on the BLUR WeChat account.

Yiyi @伊 will be BLUR’s point of contact. If you have any questions about buying modules or working together, feel free to reach out to her. She’ll pass your suggestions and ideas on to me.

Thanks again to all our friends in China and everywhere else for your support! ❤️

#errorinstruments #blurelektronix @blurelectronix @dutch_modular_society @paultas_official @olamoonk @bitiworkshop @samsonight909 #soundart #noisemusic #euroracksynthesizer by @olamoonk

It’s gonna happen again! 🎛️✨

We’re very proud to be part of this beautiful festival in Beijing — one of the biggest gatherings for experimental music, Eurorack modular synthesis, and the meeting point between art and technology, taking place in the incredible 798 Art District in Beijing, China.

At the end of October, the festival will be filled with amazing artists, performances, workshops, collaborations and much more. Make sure you come and experience it!

We’ll be hosting a workshop with @errorinstruments, @blurelectronix and @bitiworkshop, where you can build three different synthesizers exploring different approaches to synthesis. 🔊⚡

We’re also coming with artists from the Netherlands:
@jungleofwires
@olamoonk
@paultas_official

And from the conservatory, we’re bringing some beautiful Chinese–Dutch collaborations:
@leng.egg
@stellar_crust

There will be performances, workshops, experimental instruments, modular synths and lots of possibilities to explore the connection between sound, art and technology.

It’s a beautiful festival with so much more happening, so check out the website for the full program or follow @modularcommune for more information.

See you in Beijing! 🇨🇳🎛️❤️ #errorinstruments #experimentalmusic #eurorackmodular #china798 #soundart by @olamoonk

It’s coming! 🔥 @modularcommune — one of the biggest festivals for synthesizers, Eurorack, sound art, performances, and workshops — is happening in the beautiful 798 Art District in Beijing.

And it’s going to be amazing to bring this to China! 🇨🇳

We’re very happy to have @errorinstruments @blurelectronix and @paultas_official hosting a DIY Make Your Own Synthesizer Workshop.

🎛️ Choose your synthesizer:

☁️ Cloud Busting — a full experimental synthesizer

📡 Data Synth — an experimental noise synthesizer

🔥 The Ritual — a synthesizer with a flame

These synthesizers normally cost around €200 or more when assembled and purchased from the shop. For this festival, Error Instruments is making a special price to give young people in China the opportunity to explore art, sound, electronics and technology.

💥 Workshop price: only 650 RMB

We can have only 16 people per day, and there are two workshop sessions.

📅 Saturday 10/24
🕒 15:00–18:00

📅 Sunday 10/25
🕕 18:00–21:00

Come build your own instrument, make noise, experiment and learn how synthesizers work from the inside. 🎛️⚡️

Reserve your spot — only 16 places per day!

OPEN CALL — ASIA / EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC / WORKSHOPS / NOISE / SYNTHESIS / SOUND

We are going to disappear into Asia for a while. 🌏

October / November / December.

This time we’re staying longer than usual, travelling through:

🇨🇳 China
🇻🇳 Vietnam
🇯🇵 Japan
🇹🇭 Thailand
🇵🇭 Philippines

We are looking for small spaces, strange spaces, art spaces, schools, studios, basements, galleries, cultural centres, independent venues, universities, DIY communities and people building their own worlds around sound.

We want to do:

— experimental synthesis workshops
— sound & electronics workshops
— performances
— talks / demonstrations
— educational sessions
— exchanges with local artists and communities
— experiments that probably shouldn’t work, but sometimes do

We’re especially interested in local culture, independent scenes, traditional knowledge, new technology and the collision between them.

Already connected with:

🇨🇳 China
@bitiworkshop — Beijing
@modularcommune — Beijing / Chengdu

🇻🇳 Vietnam
@triminh05 — Hanoi

And there are more places, people and collaborations slowly appearing on the map.

If you are part of a local scene, run a space, teach, organise events, make strange instruments, work with sound, electronics or technology — let’s talk.

No big production required.
No perfect venue required.
Just curiosity, sound and some electricity.

📩 studiopaultas@hotmail.com
📨 DM us

Asia, we are coming.

October → November → December

Bring your machines.
Bring your ears.
Bring your culture.

Let’s make some beautiful mistakes together.

STEAMPIPE A-GO-GO 🎛️💨

Fresh out of the modular jungle — a 20-minute spectacle now live on @spotify and everywhere else.

The @ericasynths Synths Steampipe takes the absolute lead, hissing and howling its way through the whole journey. Underneath, the @pikamachi Mono lays down a hypnotic, pulsing bassline that never lets go. And cutting through it all, the @errorinstruments Indian Resonator flute tries — again and again — to steal the spotlight from the Steampipe itself.

20 minutes. One continuous ride. Turn it up and let it take you somewhere else.
