An exploration of light and the traces it leaves behind by Ibiza-based photographer Marcel Boer.

Made in and around Ibiza, these photographs explore the island through warm golden tones, Mediterranean reflections and the constant movement of light across surfaces and objects.

Light is never quite the same twice. Marcel captures these fleeting encounters, transforming ordinary moments into something unexpected.

His work offers a fresh and deeply familiar vision of Ibiza — intimate, simple and surrounded by a subtle sense of mystery. A way of making the everyday feel new, and of finding beauty in the moments that exist only for an instant.

Marcel Boer is a German photographer based in Ibiza, working primarily across the commercial and fashion fields. His approach to photography grew out of a longstanding connection to skateboarding and developed into a particular fascination with analogue
photography. Since 2014, he has increasingly worked with film, drawn to its tactile quality, slower process, and inherent unpredictability.

His work moves between commercial and personal photography, with a visual language shaped by light, composition, atmosphere, and the relationship between people and their surroundings. He is drawn to moments
that cannot be fully controlled, where light, movement, and circumstance come together to create something unexpected.

We had a wonderful time at our season closing at W Ibiza!

We want to thank @wibiza for their support this summer, to all of the fantastic artists that participated and guests that attended our closing event, but also all our art events throughout this season.

We’ll be at OLAS GALLERY this winter with beautiful shows and our Ibiza art shop and can’t wait to keep welcoming you all in Santa Eulalia.

Ibiza is perhaps most revealing when the season begins to turn. Summer’s intensity softens, the light changes and another side of the island comes quietly into view.

At Olas Gallery, that transition unfolds through three exhibitions. Marcel Boer traces the island’s disappearing light in Las Huellas del Sol, before Arnoud L∆L∆ turns repetition into meditation with the intricate thread works of Untangled Emotions.

Then comes Winter Waves: a collective portrait of Ibiza’s creative community, brought together for the island’s quietest months.

From light, to thread, to people, Olas Gallery moves into autumn and winter with the artists who shape the island from within.
