Not long till the MOTHERS OF MOTHERS EP SHOWWWWW

This one isn’t on the EP but it’s new and my brain loves shiny new things. It’s called girl (in the way the moon is) and it’s for all my queer neurodivergent gals who just feel weird about being a woman sometimes. maybe we’d just be happier as leaves or mossy stones.

19 Nov: @_anna_anise_music at @the_greenbank_pub | ✨ALBUM LAUNCH✨

We’re thrilled to host the Bristol launch of Anna Anise’s debut bilingual album ‘Aneth’. Blending melodic hooks, rich vocals, and full-bodied guitar, ‘Aneth’ seamlessly weaves together English and Cornish (Kernewek). On this very special night, Anna will be joined on stage by her exceptional band of fellow Cornish musicians - Lizzie Pridemore, Millie Young and Issy Meltzer - who bring soaring string arrangements and close harmonies to the uplifting arrangements of her original songs.

Support from Bristol-based songwriter @old.moll whose dark indie folk evokes ancient stories and folkloric mystery.

This is a seated gig upstairs in the Greenbank Pub - sadly there is no wheelchair access to this venue.

A sold-out homecoming, set against Dartmoor folklore. 🤘

Marianne Joyce returned to Plymouth’s Barbican Theatre for her first headline show, in the room where she first performed at an open mic. The audience sang along, with chip forks raised like lighters during ‘14% ’, a wonderfully Plymouth moment.

Opening the evening, Old Moll drew the packed room into songs exploring women’s history and folklore. Her Dartmoor-inspired ‘Silver Hair’ stayed with our field contributor long after the show.

Megalithic Maltese explorations 🌀

It was sooo gorgeous to see the Venus of Malta again, thank her for what she’s inspired, and explore Ħagar Qim, the temple where she was found!!

I’m so glad Venus made it onto the Mothers of Mothers EP. I’ll never forget seeing her for the first time — realising this 5000-year-old statue looks like me, and also reading up on the theory that she’s a self-portrait (and not just a ‘fertility symbol’).

I’ll never get over how old these temples are (older than Stonehenge)!! These places have seen thousands of years of human love and life and there’s such a special energy about them 🧡 by @old.moll
