Happy #indigenouspeoplesday

I can’t remember how I found this, but it’s a cool bot that tells you the name of the indigenous people that lived there before colonization. If you text this number with a city and state (separated by a comma) or a zip code. It will reply with the name of the Native lands of that region.

I found it when I was in Austin,Tx this summer and used it when I was in Boston to be informed and to know what group of people walked those areas before their worlds were drastically changed.

If you know me, you know I love history and geography, so this little bot will be used by me on every trip I go on or whenever I find myself curious about the history of a location. by @old_man_ruben

Yesterday I had the opportunity to spend the afternoon playing golf at a world class golf course, Torrey Pines. I didn’t know it walking in, but this quickly turned into a place that I would cross off my Bucket List. I also got to reconnect with a very generous friend whom I hadn’t seen in a long time. The sweeping views were a sight in person and took my breath away every time I looked up. From the iconic 3rd hole where I lost 2 balls, to the green on the 18th hole made famous by the Tiger Woods celebration. This was a special place where I knew I was walking on hallowed ground, yet I didn’t expect it to have as much of an impact on me as it did.
