Dreaming of a hand-painted kitchen? 💭

For this project, the customer requested a classic, hand-painted look, so we achieved this flawless finish using only a small hand brush and mini roller.
To ensure a pristine result, we meticulously masked everything—countertops, appliances, and flooring—before starting.😷 We scuffed sanded every single square inch with our Festool sander and vacuum system, then cleaned every surface throughout.

We applied 1 coat of oil-based primer for maximum adhesion, followed by two topcoats of @benjaminmoore Advance Satin for a durable, beautiful finish. We also painted the bench seating in the dining nook as well as the dining table in the back was also hand-painted to match the new brown aesthetic. 🤎

Bringing the character back to this classic room required real craftsman focus.

When we first stepped into this space, the walls and woodwork had seen much better days. The original drywall was in total disarray, and the intricate trim details needed extensive hand-remodeling before we could even think about opening a paint can. Every seam had to be smoothed, damaged profiles remolded, and surfaces painstakingly prepped to honor the original architecture.

Once the groundwork was set, the finish work brought it all together:

Two-Tone Wall & Trim Depth: A warm, neutral backdrop paired with crisp off-white highlight trim around the picture-frame wall moldings to give the room dimension.

Arched Window Detail: Hand-finished casing and sash work on those tall arched windows to frame the outdoor light without losing historical character.

Flawless Ceiling Transition: Smooth overhead coating that draws the eye up and accents the fresh crown molding.

Doorway & Baseboard Restoration: Clean, sharp lines on all door surrounds and deep baseboards to tie directly into the warm parquet flooring.

Restoration isn’t about rushing the paint—it’s about respecting the prep work so the final coat speaks for itself.

This Davis Islands beauty is over 100 years old, which in Tampa years means it’s practically medieval. 🏛️☀️

Instead of knocking it down to build a mega-mansion (as some of their new neighbors have) the owners wisely chose to preserve it. Then we spent the last few weeks questioning our life choices while breathing in a century’s worth of sanding dust to make it happen!😷

We completely tackled every square inch of white pictured. @austinhistorical knocked out several of the window sashes on the older historical windows!

The real fun was the window sashes we took on, which required us to demo the old failing bits, masterfully reglaze the glass, and pray to the historic preservation gods we didn’t break anything!😩🙏🏻

The Old Crow Overkill Process:
• Sand everything until our arms fell off.
• Oil prime to seal wood older than our grandparents.
• Patch, pray, and traditionally reglaze the windows.
• Peel Bond prime (because we have commitment issues and want this paint to stick forever).
• Two top coats of Benjamin Moore Regal Select Soft Gloss.

BONUS: EVERYTHING WAS HAND BRUSHED! 💪🏼🥵

The Colors:
• Trim, soffits, gutters, and casings: SW Alabaster (the ultimate creamy historic white).
• Shutters and lanterns: SW Tricorn Black (as dark as our morning coffee).

History preserved, curb appeal restored, and our lungs are almost clear.

🔱 VIVA LA YBOR 🔱

Periwinkle kissed in Florida sun.
Alabaster trimming every edge like lace on a cigar bar dress.
And that Haint Blue ceiling… calm, clean, sultry.

This one isn’t just painted — it’s dressed.

That periwinkle shifts all day long. Morning light makes it soft and romantic. Midday sun pulls out the coastal confidence. By night, under warm porch glow, it settles into something rich and almost smokey.

Alabaster sharpens every window and fascia line like pressed linen against aged brick.

And that Haint Blue overhead?
Old-world Southern tradition. Meant to cool the porch, calm the spirits, and stretch out those late-night conversations that only Ybor knows how to hold.

And then… the black iron.

We restored and refinished the decorative filigree metalwork on the porch — every scroll, every curve — bringing it back to a rich satin black. The ornamental iron window guards (because “burglar bars” just doesn’t do them justice) now frame the home like vintage jewelry.

That contrast?
Soft periwinkle against bold black iron.
Sweet meets strong. Classic meets dangerous.

We didn’t just spray and walk away.
Full prep. Scraped and smoothed.
Oil prime over all raw wood.
Peel bond Primer on every surface for under armor and restorative measures.
Two full top coats.
Hand-cut trim.
Back-brushed everywhere for depth and durability.

Because historic soul deserves respect.

She’s sweet. She’s strong. She’s got stories in her bones.

It’s not always about changing everything.
Sometimes it’s about sharpening what’s already there.

On this home, we handled the black package — window trim, door trim, drip edge, and architectural accents.

That contrast is what makes the white siding feel brighter.
What makes the natural wood door stand out.
What gives the entire facade definition.

Details create dimension.

From weather-beaten to wowowowow! 😍

This 6-week bungalow restoration wasn’t just a paint job — it was a full love affair with craftsmanship.

We torched🔥 scraped, sanded💪🏼 and replaced termite-ravaged siding until she was bare and honest again. Then came the marathon:
🖤 1x oil primer (the old-school anchor)
🖤 2x Sherwin Williams RX Peel Bond primers (because one coat doesn’t cut it)
🖤 2x Benjamin Moore Ultra Spec satin top coats (sprayed, back-brushed, and sanded between each layer).

That’s 5 coats of pure dedication, sealed with a 20-year promise. What was once flaking and fading is now bold, sharp, and ready to shine for decades.

Our client’s ecstatic. The neighbors are jealous. And this bungalow? She’s officially back in her prime.
