Eiafuawn - My Friends Are Cosmonauts

Clay Parton's (Duster, Calm) darling and a jewel of a project Eiafuawn (everything is all f*cked up and whatnot)
is finally back out of nowhere, 20 years after the debut album with a 4-song EP 'Endless Body' and i couldn't be happier! 'Birds From The Ground (2006)' changed my life and understanding of music, melody and harmony and the new EP is just what i needed to give my sadness a pleasant soundtrack.

video is from YouTube and is directed by
Troy Kooper (yt: @troykooper)

'Vindaloo' is somewhat of a parody of fanatical football songs made in 1998 around the time of the World Cup in France. The band behind it is the short-lived Fat Les which was a project of Blur's bassist Alex James, Lily Allen's father Keith Allen and artist Damien Hirst.
It's also clear as the sky that The Verve's Bittersweet Symphony served as an inspiration for this video. by @oldgazing

a friggin' super cool scottish indie/slacker/noise pop band from the 90's named Urusei Yatsura, like the manga! after five-six years of playing and few studio releases the band disbanded in 2001 but in their short lifespan they were praised and liked by music enthusiasts of the time that were not on the britpop or grunge team but searched for authentic & innovative alternative and independent rock bands like maybe let's say Seam, Sloan, Super Furry Animals, etc. excellent, catchy bangers and interesting, creative videos they made, as you can see, everything about them looked cool, starting with their band name! by @oldgazing

Never forgotten William Cullen Hart !!!!! ♥️

In the past year(s) psychedelic pop visionaries Will Cullen Hart and Brian Wilson lost the battle with this thing called life or living... don't wanna use the word 'death' because their music transcended life, joy, friendship, fighting the desperation and finding your inner self. Maybe Will Cullen Hart is not a name you're familiar with
but you sure heard at least once the band Neutral Milk Hotel, pals of Will's with whom he made the revolutionary, truly music loving and anti-corporation label Elephant 6 Collective!

If you are a fan of the band R.E.M. you must know that they come from the small town Athens in Georgia that is a goldmine of excellent music!
Will's bands Circulatory System and The Olivia Tremor Control also formed in Athens
and were, despite never topping mainstream music charts, the bands were a clear example
of ideas, emotions and creativity conveyed to instruments and singing.
A true angel of a man Will Cullen Hart was
and Elephant 6 remains to this day the collective that is always about singing joyfuly
and having your brain and urges turned off
towards money and fame.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒛

About 20 years ago many new bands that resebmled vintage music styles were called 'a revival' band when their sound was described.
Most popular subgenres were post-punk revival & garage rock revival. In my opinion, the comparison of something new with stuff from decades ago can sometimes be half a good thing, half a bad thing to do, but in many cases it's okay because at the end of the day it is not a shame to say that we all have inspirations!

The Willowz are an american garage rock band from Anaheim, California formed in 2002.
Their studio debut, the self-titled LP was released in 2004 and they were bringing garage rock and blues rock back on the scene big time, just after and parallel with the sea of bands like The Strokes and Interpol
that were tagged as post-punk revival bands!
The Willowz seemed interesting to the ears of music enthusiasts and their debut even caught the ear of the french film-maker Michel Gondry who included two of their songs in his now cult movie Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind and later in his other movie The Science Of Sleep!

Things were going great and well deserved for the band in the first decade of the 21st century,
they had a solid number of listeners, music magazine coverage and worked with more popular but great labels like Dim Mak.
It's important to mention that the band released their 2nd & 3rd album on the label Sympathy Records, knows as the label that launched The White Stripes in the years when they were constantly growing!
Each of their six studio albums brought something different, progressive and new, and although their sound was described with the names of some retro music styles, The Willowz sounded so fresh, at moments a bit obscure and original with their energetic and groovy vocals and play!

In about two years it will be a decade without a new studio release from this gang :'(
Manifesting they'll release something till the end of the decade!! by @oldgazing

Sheryl's Magnetic Aura is a pretty much forgotten 00's midwest emo/indie rock band but also never that much popular. They released a few EP's under this name and later renamed their band and continued making music as Meneguar. The Sheryl's Magnetic Aura project made some super cool tunes like this one from the first slide 'The World Just Died, and
this band is sure interesting to find in 2020's, although they never got bigger than they were, they are without a doubt a gem nowadays & you can hear the authenticity in their sound and style. by @oldgazing
