Video description: Macbeth Teaser (59 sec)
A silhouetted figure moves through a dark, glamorous nightclub under a spinning mirror ball and coloured light panels. A man in a suit (Andrew Sheridan) stands amid endless reflections in a mirrored corridor; a woman (Erin Shanagher) watches coolly, half-lit, against a leopard-print wall. In a washroom, Andrew scrubs his hands frantically, catching his own anxious eyes in the mirror. Quick, disorienting cuts show the club in full swing - bodies dancing under rainbow lights.

The two leads sit close in a black and red leather booth; Andrew leaned back hands resting on the seat and Erin sat straight, legs elegantly poised. The image freezes and glitches into colour-streaked distortion, then settles on them standing together on a glowing checkerboard dance floor as the title card builds in red text:

"Irish Twins" Sarah and Jamie are about to hit 30. But before they do, they're reliving their greatest hits; ‘Credit crunch’, ‘Austerity’ and ‘Free School Meals’… Benefits Britain never sounded so good!

Jamie is the baby of the family. He has absolutely no tact, no patience and no filter. But where did that ever get anyone? Sarah is 11 months and 4 days older which means she’s smarter, she’s cooler and she’s right about everything.

She was right that Oasis were freedom, she was right that Manic Street Preachers were poetry, and she was right to be worried when Dad lost his job. And in 2023 everything’s going wrong again, the bills keep going up and the opportunities keep going down. Sarah and Jamie aren’t two kids in one bedroom anymore, the future is uncertain and there’s only so long you can hang on to the past.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Councillor Peter Dean, who played a significant role in Oldham’s cultural life.

The Coliseum's CEO Martina Murphy has paid this tribute:
"I was saddened to hear of the passing of former Councillor Peter Dean.
I met Peter many times when he chaired Oldham’s Cultural Partnership Board, and knew him through his commitment to the town’s cultural life and the people and organisations who make it possible."

Across five decades of public service, Peter made a lasting contribution to Oldham. His work in culture and leisure, including establishing and leading the Cultural Partnership Board, helped build connections across our cultural community.

On behalf of everyone at Oldham Coliseum Theatre, thank you, Peter, for all you gave to our town.

Our thoughts are with his wife Sue, his family, friends and everyone who worked alongside him. ❤️ by @oldhamcoliseum

We are pleased to announce that Oldham Coliseum has been awarded £184,000 a year for 3 years through GMCA's Culture Fund.

The funding is part of a £15 million investment in culture across Greater Manchester, announced by Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), supporting theatres and cultural organisations across all ten boroughs.

“This investment is an important vote of confidence in the Coliseum, in Oldham and in the role culture can play in the future of our town... We’re incredibly grateful to GMCA for continuing to back the Coliseum and, most importantly, for recognising that people should be able to experience great culture close to home.” — Martina Murphy, CEO

Thank you to @greatermcr , we look forward to continue building strong relationships with our communities, supporting artists and young people, and bringing brilliant cultural experiences to people across Oldham while our building is transformed.

📰Read more about the fund and what it means for the Coliseum and Oldham on our news page - Link in bio.
