Hey, I’m Tara, the face behind Old Leaf Designs🪻
What started as a little dream has turned into something bigger than I could have ever imagined. It blew up faster than I could learn how to run a business. Over the past two and a half years, I’ve overcome some pretty insane hurdles (if you’ve been following my stories, you’ve probably heard me ramble about a few).
But here’s what I’ve learned: I’m resilient AF, more driven than I ever thought possible, and, yes, as stubborn as everyone says (Capricorn tings🐐). Over these years, we’ve leveled up everything—our frames, our designs, our systems, our preservation techniques, and our incredible team.

🪄My staff likes to call me a visionary, and honestly, it’s starting to feel right. The Old Leaf studio has become this buzzing little witches’ coven of empathetic, intelligent, hilarious women. We’re finally catching up with my vision of what this business could be—and it’s honestly wild to see it all come together (finally).

I was diagnosed with ADHD last year. Despite what my teachers told me, turns out I do have an eye for detail. I’ve always hated the idea of doing the same thing over and over, and it’s that stubbornness that’s helped us carve out our own groove. Customers come to us for something different. Something personal.

Our business model isn’t fast, what we do is thoughtful, slow, and deeply custom—and you won’t find anyone else doing it quite like us.

As for me? I’m always on the path to personal growth, trying to push the boundaries of creativity and leadership. I may not have everything figured out, but I’m always learning.
I’ve recently transformed from a spreadsheet fearing girl to a certified “expert” in our project management platform.

So, who am I when I’m not elbow-deep in flowers? I’m an ever-evolving girly who’s starting to believe she’s psychic (but also super skeptical of psychics, so yeah… identity crisis 😂). My work-life balance is a mess but when I’m not in the studio, I’m probably:
🎶 Singing songs to my dog about how cute she is
🎮 Listening to my boyfriend talk about nerd things

Not illicit, not A.I and not edited. Just Japanese maple, a high res scanner, luck and intuition to bring these pressed botanical prints to life (and a heck of a lot of time to digitally remove tiny dust specs 😂).

For the art collectors: Limited Edition Prints have only 25 editions per image and are encased in Premium Frames, printed on smooth cotton rag and UV protected Acrylic.
There’s lots of framing options for the premiums- if you’re going to invest in art, you want it to suit your home 🌿

And for those just wanting a more accessible option: The open edition prints are capped at 35 editions per print.

The collectors 6 are limited at 10 per set (these have an additional 2 images for a gallery wall ❤️‍🔥)

Yes this contains Japanese Maple leaves and not the naughty leaves (it’s a high res scan that looks so real my friend thought there were actual leaves in the frame).

Mikaela and Lachlans story is one of young love, resilience and a bit of mischief.

With a pressed flower frame that surprised me (I usually wouldn’t allow such beautiful flowers to be in the smaller frame) but this one turned out beautifully!

I don’t know who invited Dust to our digital party but I’m grateful I wasn’t the one that had to clean it up.

The double sided glass wedding frames have made me hate dust more than most people.
I thought digital prints were the escape.
There’s no escape.
