🍔 They say Lockhart, Texas is the BBQ Capital of Texas… but I’m about to tell you to order the smashburger instead.

The Old Pal Texas Tavern is exactly the kind of place I love finding. No gimmicks. No trying to be trendy. Just cold drinks, great people, and one of the best $8 smashburgers I’ve had anywhere in the country.

Even better? 🐶 It’s dog friendly, so Sawyer was more than welcome to hang out while we grabbed lunch.

If you’re driving through Lockhart, sure, grab some world-famous barbecue… but do yourself a favor and don’t leave town without stopping here too.

Sometimes the best meal in the BBQ capital isn’t barbecue at all.
