Our humanure creating #compostloo - BUMS & ROSES 🌹 Co-creation with @zofiapage and @woowoowaterless

It’s the first #compostingtoilet we have created in a campaign called the RiverLOOtion because with Low-tech waterless technology here we are creating the most valuable compost possible from all the 💩 and beginning to use it to grow Roses and spread forest gardens of abundance 🌸 for soil and water💧restoration has had its FIRST EVER HIRE 🙌✨🫶🥳💫

It was hired as the the crew toilet for our freinds @heartoftherose_festival and it received great feedback from everyone we spoke to.

This project is still to be finished as @compost.tom explains here.. we have designed an incredible mural for it with @zyia_soul but have yet to find the capacity (time and funds) to deliver the mural and make a number of finishing touches we want the loo 🚽 to have but we will get there.

The RiverLootion must be funded. Every hire helps us reinvest in finishing it. If you have an event of between 100 and 1000 people we have a luxury and ecological sollution for you with this Trialer. Eventually we want to deliver and collect it using solar power ✨ and to use all the profits from event hires to invest in local composting and soil carbon regeneration to heal our land and waters and #climate taken in Eridge Park by @oldtreesoil

Sneak preview of our new solar powered Oak Tree wagon! 😃🌳💚

Tom @compost.tom has been busy upgrading our old Rickshaw into an Old Tree mobile!! Roaming Rickshaw bar? Tricycle Tree Tap? Old Oak Trike? Name still to be decided!! Tricycle signage and decoration still in the making..

This is a project that we have been working on to take to @medicinefestival next week where we are supplying the Kombucha on tap to 7 of the amazing food and drink venues across the site @wasing1759 and the plan is to be roaming around spreading the word of Oak and foraging abundance whilst quenching as much thirst as possible and let everyone taste what they can experience from the main bars on this.

Huge thanks to @goodvibrationssociety for the support in having us this weekend to give it its first public outing serving our hand foraginf drinks to the wonderful humans there.

We have invested in this with @oldtreeevents as a tool to do more Offgrid and solar powered events.

Electrically assisted and renewable power pedal powered vehicles are the future!

Last weekend @grangeproject was epic !!

@oldtreesoil @oldtreeevents powered by @oldtreebrewery really catered for us soil nerds last weekend 💚🤌 a gathering of highly educated farmers, soil professionals and community activists came together to learn about #biofertilisers from the legendary @mattd153 and @juanfran.livingagriculture.

The absolute conformation there is a sustainable effective way forward in agriculture in these exciting times that won't cost the earth is inspiring.

So glad to meet you @peni_ediker @rachael.leach @swallows_tail_farming @culturinglab @swnycoed_opd and Camo from @compost_culture_birmingham your vibes where special.

I'm going to connect with everyone else as soon as possible and hopefully we can nurture the microbes together🦠🔬💫🍀

Advanced Biofertiliser Course 2026!!

This was a first of its kind. We partnered with internationally renowned teachers in the bio-fertiliser movement to host this event to show people how to Brew Your Own Fertiliser. The course was attended by more than 50% farmers that are working towards the regeneration of their living soils and farm ecosystems.

@juanfran.livingagriculture was the lead teacher- a biological agronomist and consultancy pioneer who shows farmers how to set up Bio-factory’s power their farms natural fertility to escape the trap of chemical and synthetic inputs thar are crazily still allowed and still the normal way that most of our food is produced.

We’ve seen how fast this is devastating our worlds biodiversity and now is the 11th hour to turn the tide. We must restore the microbiology, mineral and carbon cycling and water storage back into the fabric of all of our lives - LIVING SOIL.

‘The function of microbiology is to allow for the union of minerals and organic matter.’

When we all start building SOM (Soil Organic Matter) there is hope for our future climate.

This course teaches how we can create an #agriculture that rapidly builds instead of endlessly depletes soil.

The @grange.project were the perfect venue for our debut of this with an 80 acre rewilding valley with this wonderful barn - classroom conversion in the middle. Thank you to Chloe and Tom our hosts. We recommend this project to educational groups of all sizes and will definitely be applying to run more courses like this in this incredible location. Thanks to @mattd153 for encouraging this into being and to our incredible Medi chef @kwazaru7 for 6 incredible meals for all 25 students and teachers over the weekend.

Last weekend was an amazing opportunity to connect with teachers and regenerative practitioners to learn about biofertilisers and soil health 🌿🦠🌳🧪

Thankyou to @oldtreesoil, @juanfran.livingagriculture, @mattd153 and @peni_ediker for organising this beautifully curated event ✨💚✨ and for sharing their expertise and experience. Everyone was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable and we had many interesting conversations while eating delicious living and nourishing food and sampling the exquisite flavours from @oldtreebrewery's Drink the Seasons selection, surrounded by the wildflower meadows of the @grange.project

More than anything we all need a regenerative food system and for the ways we have farmed for the last 70 years with untold amounts of chemical fertilisers and harmful chemicals that destroy our soil biodiversity and health have to be permanently replaced..

The microbial revolution is ready to unfold but depends on our ability to teach and inspire many more people. We can change the future of farming with this but the knowledge needs to be shared widely so that we can change the whole agri-CULTURE. So we are platforming two of our most respected teachers in all things BIO-FERTILISER HERE and inviting you to br part of this.

We love worms 🪱 so much!!! They work so hard for us creating the #livingsoil grade compost that we’re currently bagging up as the last of the @oldtreebrewery @crowdfunderuk rewards that are all getting bagged up for fulfilment!

We’re weighing into the 🇬🇧 Compost Championships with some of the highest grade 💩 we have manifested in the past year!!

The Compost Cup is up for grabs in Britain and there’s already some stiff completion like @soilcraftcic and @hayregenerativesoilscic 😬 but really everyone’s a winner as all the local compost makers work together through our Mycelium Network and beyond on a mission to transform our toxic waste culture anyway!!

Seriously the #compost cup is an amazing initiative by @soilecologylaboratory and @soilsmiths to demonstrate the truest value of compost = MICROBES 🦠 & specifically microbial #biodiversity

We’ve gone all out for this with this entry. This compost is an inter species collaboration!!! 💩🪱🍄🐦🦠🐿️✨

We started by building a state of the art compost loo on a Trialer for our freinds @zofiapage & @formedway_ and collected all their lovely deposits with guidance on how to add and mix our special CARBON mix containing our #biochar

If this compost is good enough to win the 🏆 it will help to prove that #humanure is essential to #livingsoil regeneration and recreation which is essential to all of our survival this century…

We’re guna have to change our entire sanitation system to fix the big hot mess we’ve made of this beautiful planet 🌍 folks.

It’s not going to be easy but it begins by waking up to the value of the microbial realm and changing some critical thinking that we currently believe in…

Only those who see the invisible can do the impossible… only by making the invisible visible can we start to change the tide 🌊 and start creating a properly regenertive system for our children and future generations of all species.

What a blast! We had such a gorgeous day at the Globe with the wonderful @compost.tom from @oldtreesoil ,who showed us multiple ways to make biochar. With the sun shining and such a strong sense of community in the air, the day was full of inspiring conversations, shared learning, and plenty of excitement around environmental solutions.

A huge thank you to @compost.tom for creating such an engaging space and for being so generous with your knowledge, to @globeathay for hosting us, and to @holland_otik for cooking up some absolutely delicious local, seasonal food.

And of course, a massive thank you to National Lottery Awards for All @tnlcommunityfund for supporting this learning and engagement programme.

This was the first of six workshops we’re bringing to the community! Each month, we’ll be
exploring circular systems, soil biology, composting, and community regeneration.
