You gained you wings today my boy. No more pain, no more cancer just the rest you deserve.

You were my shadow in every sense of the word. For 11 years you been at my side whether in adventures or just staying up late to watch me play video games.

Your presence made our house a home and now there is a huge gap where you are supposed to be.

You, your mom and your brother gave me a reason to live when I couldn’t see one. You saved me from myself more than once.

I know I’ll see you in my dreams little fella, which isn’t enough but it’s the best we’ll have for a while.

Wait for me in heaven. I’ll never forget you.

I’ve been chasing this dude for many years, all over the Rockies mountain area. 10k+ hours out on the water, broken bones, blood, sweat, ground teeth, bitten lips, sunburn, frostbite and everything else.
This fish is another peak in my fishing journey. Another hard earned summit in a range of victories…and heartbreaks.
Every step before this was a brick in the road, every missed fish a lesson paid for in patience.
I’ve stood in rivers so cold they numbed my soul, watched storms roll in with nowhere to run, and felt my heart sink watching giants slip back into the depths.
But this one…this one stayed true. This one came to fruition. And for a moment, all those years, all those miles, all those scars, they weren’t just worth it. They were the only way to get here.
Here’s to a game that can’t be won. 🤙🏼🍻
