OMG! I FINALLY did it! I wrote this from scratch, and you can’t even imagine how happy I am. There were so many challenges I had to overcome to make this happen—so many personal downfalls and breakdowns that, looking back now, I can see were all leading me to this moment.I remember how it all started—back in Moscow, when I unexpectedly came across this book and instantly fell in love with it. How my friends connected me with Edward Limonov, and we spoke over the phone. How, years later, I met his ex-wife, Elena, and had an incredible experience with her. How, over time, I almost gave up on this project because I couldn’t find the key to unlocking the material. How some of my friends told me the book was too heavy, too complex—impossible to turn into a screenplay.And yet, now it’s done.
