You know that classic parenting trick where you say, “Okay, bye! I’m leaving!” and your child panics and runs after you?

Yeah… Kaia said, “Okay, bye!” and happily continued exploring. 😂 Apparently, I wasn’t abandoning her—I was finally getting out of her way.

This child has absolutely no fear of being left behind. She’s just excited that the supervision has clocked out. 🫣🤣

HThe audacity of a tenant who paid $0 in rent, kicked holes in the walls, destroyed the plumbing, caused several building-wide emergencies and nearly had the landlord converted into tasteful living-room décor—only to leave at four pounds and file a complaint about the accommodations.

Sir, you received 24-hour room service, climate control and free utilities. If you vacated before construction was complete, that sounds like a personal decision.

The uterus denies all allegations. Management has retained counsel and will not be taking questions at this time.

The former tenant is now almost 17 pounds, eats over 40 ounces a day and continues to terrorize staff. 🫠

People see Down syndrome before they see the child. And I think that realization broke my heart a little.

I used to tell people Kaia has Down syndrome without thinking twice. I never realized those words could enter a room before she did.

Recently, a woman at a center meant to support mothers called Kaia an “anomaly.” Later, after watching her run around, understand everything and answer her questions, she said:

“Well, she has Down syndrome, but she’s not stupid.”

That sentence stayed with me.

Not because she called my daughter stupid—but because I realized stupid had been the expectation.

Then came a daycare. We could start immediately. Another family couldn’t start for three months. They were chosen. I don’t know why, but after enough experiences like this, you start wondering.

So next time, maybe I won’t mention Down syndrome first.

Not because I’m ashamed of it.

Because I want my daughter to have the chance to enter the room before her diagnosis does.

Meet Kaia first. Meet the curls, the laughter, the intelligence, the stubbornness, the mischief and the enormous personality.

Then I’ll tell you about her extra chromosome.

Because maybe instead of Down syndrome changing the way you see Kaia…

Kaia might change the way you see Down syndrome. ❤️
