Joyeux anniversaire, Monsieur de La Tour. 💙
Happy birthday to Maurice-Quentin de La Tour, born on this day in 1704. 🎂✨

More than three centuries later, his pastels still feel astonishingly alive—the light, the color, the intelligence in every face. He remains one of my greatest inspirations and a constant reminder of just how powerful this beautiful medium can be.

I swear Procreate was invented as a drawing tool for the brain. When I make these quick digital sketches, I’m simply exercising my ability to see—to extract the whole from the model instead of getting lost in details. But when I watch the recording afterward, I often notice strokes and decisions I honestly don’t remember making—the eye, brain, and hand were apparently having a conversation without inviting me. 😄 Try it sometime: make a quick sketch without overthinking it, then watch the recording and see if you remember making all those decisions. I’m not switching from pastel to digital; I’m training what comes before any medium: the eye and the mind. As my art teacher always told me, “It’s not your hand that draws. It’s your head.” Master study after Rembrandt. #procreate #digitalsketch #portrait #mastercopy #digitalpainting taken in Ellensburg, Washington by @olgadeluca_art

We need for IAPS to continue!!!🙏❤️ IAPS is so much more than an exhibition or a conference. It’s a place where friendships are formed, ideas are shared freely, and artists from around the world feel like one big family. #iaps #pastelworld #pastel #pastelart taken in Albuquerque, New Mexico by @olgadeluca_art
