Enjoying my little Semba tricks era 💃🕺🤩

“Polish 🇵🇱 below ⬇️”

Tried a couple of Semba tricks at the lesson.
Well… not exactly flawless yet, but definitely getting there 😅

There’s one trick I’ve been watching for almost a year, following how some amazing dancers do it in their reels 👀

The follower slides all the way down, staying connected to the leader at just one point — his shoulder — and then slaps the floor as if killing a bug 🪳😈

And today I was finally able to do it 🎉
Actually, we managed with @polacoquekuia to kill some 🪳🪳🪳 during our class 😄

And you wouldn’t believe how surprisingly light, easy and playful these tricks can feel once you understand the technique and have the right explanation.

Definitely worth trying — under proper guidance, of course 😉
Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.

Thanks for the great lesson and explanation, @polacoquekuia 🙌

🇵🇱

A dzisiaj w końcu udało mi się go zrobić 🎉

Dzięki @polacoquekuia za świetne zajęcia i super wyjaśnienie 🙌 #semba #sembashowstyle #dance by @olhasal

Beyond copying the steps — finding the dance in your own body. ❤️‍🔥

Happy to have been part of these workshops with @agnieszka_ginga ❤️

So much more than learning steps and choreography — a deep dive into traditional dances, their foundations, meaning, feeling and energy, and their interconnection with kizomba.

One thing that really stayed with me: knowing the roots makes your body more able to catch the rhythm, the vibe and the meaning, and then express it in your own way.

Taking what I’ve learned, mixing it with what is already in me, and simply dancing it rather than copying it. 💃✨

Looking forward to the continuation of this project. ❤️#angolantraditionaldance #kizomba #dance #ginga great project taken in Studio Tańca Art of Move by @olhasal

Dance is not only about movement and music…
And not only about creating a beautiful picture ✨

Every dance opens a new door to discovering yourself — through culture, rhythm, connection, and dialogue.

For me, that door became kizomba and semba 🖤❤️

At first, you want to move and look like those who carry this culture naturally. But the real journey begins when you stop simply copying and start finding Yourself inside the dance.

Because dance is not about imitation.
It is about connection — with music, with your partner, with space… and most importantly, with yourself 🌿

And it is a gift to meet a teacher who helps you not lose yourself in the dance, but discover yourself through it.

Thank you, @polacoquekuia , for that feeling✨#kizomba #semba #musicality #danceconnection #danceandgrow by @olhasal
