Every time I tell someone I live in Chicago, they picture river views and glass high-rises.

That’s usually an out-of-town thing.

And yeah, that’s part of it, but that’s not all there is. But Chicago is neighborhoods. It’s local spots you go to all the time.

It’s being “10 minutes away” and still somehow taking an hour because traffic just… does that.

That’s the real day-to-day here, and that stuff matters way more than the highlight reel when you’re deciding where to live.

I’m a real estate advisor. I’m also someone you can actually call back after you sign.

That’s the part people forget to ask about. Anyone can unlock a door. Fewer people stick around for the sequencing, the second-guessing, the “is this normal?” texts at 9pm.

15 years in Chicago taught me the job isn’t the showing. It’s everything around it.

Some parts of this city don’t feel like Chicago at all.

I’ve had clients tell me a certain block reminded them of Europe, or a corner reminded them of somewhere they vacationed years ago. It happens more than people expect once you start paying attention to the details instead of just passing through.

We tend to walk both sides of the line. We spend the afternoon tailgating and go to a 🏈 football game, AND THEN flip the script and go dance or see a drag show, and celebrate with our LGBTQ 🏳️‍🌈 family wherever we are. This has become something we love doing, and it showcases perfectly who we are…. Bi-Social individuals!!

And what makes it even better is how many people fall within the same category and bridge what most would consider a divide between the sports community and the LGBTQ community, where we really are all the same!

An agent unlocks the door. An advisor tells you whether you should walk through it.

That’s the whole job, honestly. Anyone can open a lockbox. The harder part is sitting with someone through the actual decision, the timing, the numbers, the “is this really the right move for me right now” conversation, and giving them a straight answer even when it’s not the one that gets a deal done faster.

15 years in this market has taught me that the sale is rarely the hard part. The decision before it is.

A few things I’m noticing this fall, some Chicago, some just the season doing its thing. 🍂☕️

The light changes first. Then the pace. Buyers who were on the fence all summer start moving with more intention once September hits, sellers get more realistic, and the whole market feels a little more honest.
