A look back at Emma and Shane’s multi-day wedding all shot on film!

These frames really drew me in because of how they depict what their day felt like. Carefree, high energy, and raw. These are the types of photos that pull me in. That split second where anticipation meets perfect timing. I know in my head that I only have one shot to get it right, especially when it comes to film, and I think that’s what makes it so exciting to me.

What if your wedding venue was also the place you had your first date? 
Cortney and Karl got married at @vanartgallery and created core memories over dinner at @1931gallerybistro the same place where their story began!

With the gallery’s clean lines and classic architecture, it made the perfect setting for an intimate ceremony. Cortney’s modern dress, with a soft sculptural floral cape, flowed effortlessly through the space. Every part of the day felt thoughtful, personal, and true to who they are.

After days of celebrating, Gurvir & Jill still had one more party in them. And they definitely saved some of the best for last!

We woke up to one of those crisp, sunny October mornings where you just knew it was going to be a good day.

From a beautiful garden ceremony at @stanleyparkpav surrounded by their favourite people to a reception at @arras.vancouver decked out in rich red velvet, chrome accents, and some seriously stunning florals.

And once the dancing started, there was no slowing this crowd down. What a way to wrap up days of celebrations!

But this particular photo, I keep coming back to. A photo of Simran and her grandma. Leaning on each other and sharing a soft smile. Just a quiet moment between them, but it says so much.

“We want something candid and less posed. Could we just do something we normally do together?”

Umm heck yah!

For Jill & Gurvir, that meant leaning into something they already love doing together: trying good food and drinks.

So we headed to @meochinatown for a few cocktails, burgers, fries and milkshakes ordered in.

Sometimes the easiest way to feel like yourselves in photos is to plan a good date instead. I’ll handle the rest. 👌🏼

A personal project I’ve wanted to do for a while, was to photograph in Chinatown during the night. To use the neon lights, amplify its beautiful characters, and use an RGB light to make it cinematic.

So when I reached out to @emmielikesramen, who I photographed when I first started out, said she was game I knew it was gonna be fun!

Photographing the session with film in low light was a challenge on its own. Holding still so I don’t introduce camera shake, metering properly to get the exposure right, and holding my breath countless times to nail focus.

When I got my film back, I instantly fell in love with how they turned out! The quality and colour is just magical. I had so much fun creating and conceptualizing this session. Learning the quirks of film and falling in love with art again has been fulfilling and rewarding. by @oliverrabanes

I love using frames to compose my shots whether that’s a door, columns, windows or a bush. It adds a little umph to the shots. Photographing Jess and Pat’s wedding at @hycroftuwcv was a perfect venue for this. The unique rooms and the lush garden created beautiful backdrops for their fairytale wedding.
