POSTS STORIES REELS

I'm so excited about this! I partnered up with The Common Press to shortlist a group of authors for our first ever Indie Authors Day.

Like myself, these are queer authors who published their own books independently and I am so humbled to be working with them. by @oliverwarren

Happy Unwellness Halloween. Only those in the chapel know the sonic sorcery experienced. Thank you @salena.godden @arunghoshmusic @chloechousharp @benhauke___ @oliverwarren for pushing sounds and music beyond the cemetery and beyond the crypt. More freaky FRQNCY to come.. 📹courtesy @robynskinner7 by @oliverwarren

UNWELLNESS - A Sound Meditation Gong Wrong - 29th October 7pm - Abney Park Cemetery

I am SO excited to perform with @frqncy_ldn at the chapel in the Abney Park Cemetery for this anti-sound bath sound bath. And to share spoken word duties with the incredible @salena.godden and @jrbeerpdx while FRQNCY LDN ( @alexlavery , @arunghoshmusic , @chloechousharp and @benhauke___ ) whip up an unsettling and unforgettable south meditation gong wrong.

Alex helped me launch my zine OLIVER WARREN'S SLIGHTLY FERAL last month and we performed together THE DEVIL'S PUS on stage, and I'm so excited to sneak my way into his incredible ensemble for this special performance.

Alex and FRQNCY LDN always make the most beautiful, transformative and peaceful music - but for one night only, are turning it on its head and using their maigc music powers for evil. This has to be seen / heard.

Come. Get spooky.

Excited prepping sounds for tomorrow’s show in Abney Chapel. Expect sounds from key grinding machines, foil on harp strings and local wildlife. The clip is from the cemetery that will be pitch black tomorrow evening other than dimmed lights to guide you to the chapel, dimmed to protect the bats! Kick off your Halloween with us. Mwah ha ha ha ha… by @oliverwarren

Line up announced for Thursday’s Unwellness show. @salena.godden , @jrbeerpdx & @oliverwarren delivering spoken words, @arunghoshmusic on clarinet & harmonium, @chloechousharp on harp, @benhauke___ on SFX & @alexlavery on gong, synth & percussion. After a rainy recce last week, I can’t tell you how excited we are to play within the acoustics of this chapel and the sounds on arrival, through the cemetery won’t disappoint. I've been ordered by law to send a photo of my underpants around my ankles.... to the British Library!?!!?

OK. It's all because SLIGHTLY FERAL - VOLUME ONE (available NOW from lots and lots of excellent independent booksellers - or online from @thecommonpress : tinyurl.com/slightlyferal (LINK IN BIO), and in the UK, once a publication is officially distributed and branded with an ISBN, you have to send a copy to the @britishlibrary - and so, all manner of feral stories, and selfies are now winging their way to the British Library archive to become a part of British history.

So future historians, queer scholars, and come on, let's be honest, alien archivests sent to study humanities last days before it self-destructed... Please enjoy this post-coital picture of my American Apparel pants around my ankles. You're welcome.

Did you like Fruit Fly? I did. I loved the way @joshsilverauthor was all to happy to let his characters do grubby things, make the choices that, while weren't 'good' choices, they were the right ones for them.

It's exactly what I did with my queer short stories in (smooth segue, there) OLIVER WARREN'S SLIGHTLY FERAL -VOLUME ONE.

I didn't create a collection of good gays, oh no, they're feral has heck. But like Fruit Fly, they were interestingly feral, and the dumbass, terrible choices they make... all make that creeping sense that our (or, should i say MY) history is full of.

If you liked FRUIT FLY, I guarantee (with no actual guarantee, obvs) that you'll like SLIGHTLY FERAL.

VOLUME ONE is out now, on sale in LONDON ( @gaysthewordbookshop , @thecommonpress , @burleyfisher , @wearebardbooks , @wiltonwaydeliandwines , @housmans_books , @goodnews.soholondon.magazines ), NEWCASTLE ( @uniquemagazines ) and CHICAGO ( @quimbysbookstore ) with more soon.

ORDER ONLINE:
UK via The Common Press - tinyurl.com/slightlyferal
International via Central Books - centralbooks.com (search: SLIGHTLY FERAL)

I MADE A THING - AND IT'S IN ACTUAL BOOKSHOPS.

Only a month ago, I was posting on social about this little red feral thing that I wanted to release into the world. And now IT'S OUT. And it's now just out, but it's, in the words of Nathan in Queer As Folk, "doing it, it's really doing it."

We had an awesome launch party at @thedivineldn , with spoken-word-meets-gong performances with FRQNCY LDN ( @frqncy_ldn ) and men in not many clothes reading extracts ( @thenbrofficial ), and people actually bought it. $$$

And now it's in stores in London ( @thecommonpress @artwordsbookshop @gaysthewordbookshop ) AND Chicago ( @quimbysbookstore ) and showed it's spine at a queer makers market ( @queeriosities_ ) and has a distributor, too.

I've still got a tonne to do, but I really want to take a moment to celebrate it's real, it's out there, and people I don't know are buying it!!!

Why don't you buy it:
UK: buy from The Common Press www.tinyurl.com/slightlyferal
International: centralbooks.com - search for "Slightly Feral"
