It’s time.
Dance has always been it for me, I’ve loved it for long as I can remember. I’m so blessed that I got to experience everything that comes with competitive dance. Sisterhood, love, laughter, growth, reward, strength, & power. Dance is the only thing in my life that has remained constant & the only thing that keeps me sane. Thank you, dance, for giving me a work ethic, confidence, passion, comfort, dedication, & a home.
Thank you to all my dance teachers; Niki, Tara, Shannah, Krista, Erin, Emily, & Adrienne, for all that you have done for me. I love you all more than you know. Niki & Tara, thank you for giving me a foundation & giving me the ability to DANCE. I wouldn’t be the dancer I am without KPAC. Erin & Emily, I only had you as teachers for a short time, but every class you take is a learning experience. Adrienne, thank you for being a role model for me growing up, sticking with me forever, & for letting me experience loving tap. Krista, I can’t thank you enough for seeing the open dancer I am & giving me the most amazing solos. I have not only learned so much from you, but we have built an amazing relationship that I am so thankful for. Shan, thank you for not only being my teacher but also a best friend. I am so lucky I have a person like you in my life. I am so fortunate to call EDA home. Everything happens for a reason.
To my team; I love you all FOREVER & this bond we share is the strongest thing I know. When it comes to best friends, I think I got pretty lucky with the group of people I met 6 years ago & became inseparable to ever since. You all make it so easy to love dance & I can’t wait to see what the future holds for each and everyone of you. Through national champs, 9am rehearsals, Stewart’s runs, McDonald’s milkshake nights, sleepovers, backstage pep talks, and watching everyone from the team above us graduate, it still doesn’t feel real that this is goodbye. We have gone through quite literally everything together.
I still can’t believe this is really it. It’s really over. My heart breaks leaving because I know I will never have another experience like it. But there is new. There is MORE. This is only the beginning. by @olivia_figary_
