One year ago a piece of my heart went to heaven🤍

Somehow it feels impossible that it’s been a year since I held her hand, prayed with her, and sat beside her during the final days of her life. This past year has been filled with so many moments I wish I could have shared with her. Graduating college. Moving into a new chapter of life.

The hardest part about grief is that life keeps moving. The world doesn’t stop, even when yours does. She was my comfort, my favorite person to call to talk about anything and everything and one of the greatest loves of my life. Losing her has changed me in ways I never expected. But I am reminded that the depth of my grief is a reflection of the depth of my love for her. And what a privilege it was to be loved by someone so special.

I see pieces of her in who I am becoming, and that is one of the greatest gifts she left behind. One year later, I still miss her every single day. Until we meet again, Gramma. Forever grateful that I knew a love so strong that has left my heart still aching a year later. 🕊️

Grad weekend recap! My heart is so full & I feel so lucky to have gotten to live this chapter of my life surrounded by the bestest friends and most supportive family🥹🤍 I could’ve never imagined finding friendships like these in college!! So bittersweet closing this chapter of our lives but forever grateful for UNCW and all the memories I’ve made along the way!!
