Journey & Jake 🤍

There are some wedding days that you leave feeling like you witnessed something so much bigger than just a wedding day. This was one of those days.

Journey has lost both of her parents, and the way she honored them throughout her wedding day was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever witnessed. She had a dried bouquet of her mom’s flowers, a table set up for them, a boutonniere and corsage for her parents, and two beautiful reserved seats at the ceremony, complete with lace details.

She carried a white balloon filled with her dad’s ashes down the aisle and, at the end, released it into the sky. Then, with two very important men in her life by her side, she walked toward Jake.

And somehow, the day got even more meaningful. Before the father-daughter dance, Journey got to hear a voicemail from her dad. She then shared that dance with Jake’s dad, and there truly aren’t words for how beautiful that moment was- not a dry eye in the room!

And then there was the sunset. 🌙

The Harvest Moon was her dad’s favorite, and as the sun went down, the Harvest Moon came out and gave us just a little piece of him to carry with us through the evening. It felt like one of those little moments that you don’t have to explain—you just feel it.

Journey and Jake are two of the sweetest humans, and I feel incredibly blessed that I got to be there to document a day filled with so much love, joy, remembrance, and meaning.

A&J elopement in Stanley, Idaho.

These two with a handful of family & friends came all the way from North Carolina to Idaho! It was such a beautiful day And to top it all off, they ended the day soaking in a pretty epic hot spring with a view. ✨
