📚1.) I wanted to choose my next book at random so i went to the African American Author section of my library ~ && this book was saurrrr goodt! I knew i was going to love it from the first page...first chapter…i finished it wanting moree_i looked it up and this is the authors first novel😩. Also super cool👏🏾but zamn, i~need~more with Yejide & Darwin!🤍 I feltt so much reading this book…it made me think/reflect so much..I was so invested. Reading along with the audio was beautiful because they have accents (is set in Trinidad) I was completely immersed in this world. My first 6 star🤍2.) This was like listening to a TV show & had me hookeddt…Interesting and a couple moments of jaw drops irl for me lol. ++ lowkey scary cs i can highkey see this being a real reality •^•3.) Super lovely listen ✩ Lowkey thought provoking lol. My current thoughts thinking back on it: ~thin line between dreams and reality • You can make your dreams, your reality • Dream (imagine)..& believe • Language is made up and can be understood but is not inherently “common” • Anything and everything is “made up” • What is sense and who gets to decide what makes any~★ I love quotes and this one has really good ones. Id listen to or read this again for the whims. I thrifted a really pretty copy of this 🃏🐇✪ I didnt think about my idea to be able annotate everything i read, regardless of if its an audiobook, or whether my copy is from the library or nott, until several books later lol. So, the quotes listed are ones that i had to search up ++ i dont have my direct thoughts n shi from when reading the book ~ but eventually i figured it outt & i will disclose when the quotes are sourced from myy readingg experience ++ when i have things to share that ive annotated ❦ ❦#bookwrapup #bookrecs #leeresvida by @oliviaxhalima

Do upcycles count for #memademay ?? 🪡 My favorite upcycles for colder weather! ☆ Upcycled soley from secondhand materials _ even my thread is secondhand! ☻ ★ Tan sweatshirt is from an estate sale, Blue sleeves were cut off a friend’s thrifted sweatshirt (cut a whileee ago bc they wanted it sleeveless & i kept the sleeves) The orange fabric in the sleeve is from sweatpants ive had since highschool that turned into cleaning pants (& are now shorts bc i ended up cutting the legs off pretty evenly, unintentionally ¨̮) ++ thrifted lace for the sleeve hems! ★ Thrifted grey sweatpants + Red sweatpant-like fabric that i thrifted in SC_(theres a gooddt amount of it, it seemed to be previously used as fabric but its not labeled. I lovee the colorr!) + The white stars are a printed stretchy fabric that i thrifted alsoo! 🧵#sewcute #starflowersews #secondhandsewing by @oliviaxhalima
