On Sunday October 18th from 6-8pm join us at RAIR in the Mechanics Barn for an evening of pneumatics and harmonics as @olliegoss_ presents their work in inflatable architecture from their time as a RAIR resident! In keeping with their interest in creating temporary, provisional spaces for gathering, while at RAIR, Ollie has been cataloguing and testing various materials that have come through the waste stream to create spaces that are temporary, fugitive, and light as air, appearing at a moment’s notice and disappearing without a trace. There will be a musical performance inside of the inflatable at 6:30pm by local trio Suki Mourning Thugg as well as light refreshments. There are no stairs to enter the barn which has concrete floors and the available restroom is a double-wide porta potty with arm rails. Folding chairs will be available for those who wish to sit. thank you to everyone who came out to the :/>repair opening and saw this very special show 🥲

we have a big list of thank you’s! first, thank you to @ulisesbooks for trusting us to transform the space and situate the show in an experimental publishing space. second, thank you to @drew.j for capturing the opening reception through your lovely eyes, and third, thank you to @bamblerdander for carefully documenting the show.

Puppetry presents: Roam, a Migrating Puppet Performance ~

Join us on Monday April 20 at 6:00 PM in front of Tyler for an evening of performance. @olliegoss_ ‘s class has been working hard all semester, building puppets and performance, and we can’t wait to share it with you all! 🌟

The show will be roaming and we will be changing locations. Wherever we take the stairs, there will be the option to take the elevator. There will be a banner leading the way!

Please join us on Thursday April 9th from 7-9 PM for the
:/>repair exhibition opening reception at Ulises. The affiliated Electronics Faire Exhibition features art from local and national artists engaging with the practice of repair. The exhibition theme follows the Electronics Faire founding principle that while the history of electronics is entangled with violence, manifold traditions of marginalized communities using electronics as a form of social relating, intimacy, and resistance continue to flourish. Following mending movements and care cultures, we called for works that engage with repair as a maintenance protocol, cultural practice, and queer and abolitionist methodology. Our definition of repair follows Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick’s analytic approach that

The desire of a reparative impulse… is additive and accretive. Its fear, a realistic one, is that the culture surrounding it is inadequate or inimical to its nurture; it wants to assemble and confer plenitude on an object that will then have resources to offer to an inchoate self.
