Some old McDonaldland commercials gave Grimace, Mayor McCheese, and the rest of the cast entire storylines without even mentioning food. Decades later, here we are still talking about them.

Alicia Camden, associate vice president of digital creative, brings those commercials into her conversation with Erin Fields, marketing director, about going viral on the internet. What kind of content do people want to spend time with, and what stays with them afterward?

“We Need to Go Viral” is the first episode of our five-part podcast series with Enrollify, where we take familiar requests in higher ed marketing and look at the meaning and goals behind them.

Give your agency the director’s cut, complete with the plot, the backstory, the cast of characters, and the scenes that never made it into the brief.

Once they know the whole story, they can ask smarter questions, spot possibilities you may be too close to see, and help shape where the project goes next. That’s when the good stuff starts.

Morgan Branson, web experiences specialist, knows this story from both sides. She spent five years working with agencies as a higher ed marketer before joining Ologie.

@ucf.edu got its start because of a moonshot. Founded in 1963 to serve the emerging space industry, UCF has always looked ahead.

That spirit became the foundation for a transformative $3.5 billion fundraising campaign. With a young alumni community and an ambitious vision for the future, UCF needed a campaign that would show donors where they fit and how their support could help move the university forward.

“Go for Launch” captured UCF’s momentum, optimism, and drive. From a case statement designed like a mission briefing to the website, social content, donor communications, and launch event, every piece carried the campaign forward.

Your college probably knows what you studied, which events you’ve attended, and every email you’ve opened. But does it know what matters to you now?

Only 8% of alumni say their personal interests are known very or extremely well, according to the 2026 National Alumni Survey. That leaves a lot of people receiving invitations, messages, and fundraising asks shaped by a version of themselves they may have outgrown.

Ologie marketing director Erin Fields looks at how institutions can keep learning who their alumni are as their lives and priorities change.

AI can sound empathetic and say all the right things, but can it recognize when the technically correct answer is emotionally wrong?

When Anthropic built a global campaign around the public’s biggest concerns about AI, the work drew from research involving more than 120,000 people. Understanding the hopes and fears behind their answers, and deciding how to represent them honestly, required the kind of life experience, instinct, and emotional judgment that AI cannot bring to the work.

In our latest article over on our blog, Dakota Story explores the white space AI is creating for branding and marketing, and why emotional intelligence may become the industry’s most valuable advantage.

The @peabodyinstitute is home to a wide-ranging community of performers, composers, dancers, educators, students, and audiences.

Its new website gives that community a digital home that feels just as dynamic, while making it easier to find everything that Peabody has to offer.

Congratulations on the launch. It was a highlight for our team to be a part of. by @ologie

The University of Central Florida’s story started with a moonshot.

Founded in 1963, @ucf.edu had a clear mission to educate the people who would help lead the growing space industry. That history became the foundation for Go for Launch, UCF’s major fundraising campaign.

The campaign’s main print piece was designed to look like a sleek, top-secret mission file, inviting supporters to feel like part of the crew. Inside, a collection of inserts shares stories about the people and projects UCF is helping move forward.

A stark, black-based palette makes gold accents pop and allows vibrant photography to take center stage, while mission-driven language links the urgency of UCF’s work to its impact on the world. by @ologie

@tamu is one of the nation’s largest public universities and among a small group with land-, sea-, and space-grant designations. But outside of Texas, awareness often began and ended with athletics, leaving much of the university’s research, service, and impact out of the story.

Together, we began asking this question: What could Texas A&M say that only Texas A&M could own?

Research with students, alumni, faculty, staff, and university leaders revealed the answer in Aggie culture itself. Shared values and a deep sense of duty connected the university’s people to one another, and to the good they could accomplish together.

That insight helped shape “A Force for Good,” a concept that raised favorability toward Texas A&M from 64% to 85% in creative testing.

In April 2025, more than 400 university marketers and communicators gathered for a two-day internal launch. From there, the platform found its way into campus life through first-day photo ops, temporary tattoos, shirts, signage, and other moments that gave Aggies the chance to make it their own. by @ologie

Meet Taylor King, our vice president of creative. She’s spent the past 10 years helping Ologie make smart, beautiful work. Swipe to learn a little more about her. 👋

Taylor is always asking how something could work a little better. That goes for brand design, her garage, and the snack cabinet. Cooper is usually nearby to supervise. 🐾

You can usually hear Taylor’s laugh before you see her. It’s contagious, just like the energy she brings to the people around her.

Taylor loves a good puzzle, which is probably why brand design suits her so well. Every project gives her something new to figure out. Sometimes that includes explaining why the color is cornflower, not just blue.

Ten years later, Taylor is still amazed by the people she gets to work with. And we feel the same way about her; we’re very grateful she’s an Ologist. 🧡 by @ologie

As @gilcreasemuseum prepared to reopen in a new, state-of-the-art facility, we spent time in Tulsa touring its grounds, meeting with staff, leadership, members, donors, and community advisors, and exploring what makes Gilcrease unlike any other museum.

Gilcrease holds one of the most comprehensive collections of the Americas. More than 300,000 works span 12,000 years, bringing art, historical materials, and cultural objects together in active dialogue.

That discovery led to “Unparalleled,” a brand that positions Gilcrease as a prism, not a mirror. It is a place where many stories and perspectives coexist, and our understanding of history is never finished.

The visual identity brings that idea to life through layered visuals and thoughtful pairings that reflect how histories, cultures, and perspectives meet throughout the museum. At the center is a new open “G” logo, a reminder that the story is never fixed or complete.
