Inspiring Food Innovation - Seed to Scale
POSTS STORIES REELS
Olsen Organic B.V. was pleased to participate in an event hosted by FoodX Netherlands, where Managing Director Randy Olsen shared insights on food product development and the journey from innovation to market. Based out of the World Food Center in Ede-Wageningen—at the heart of Europe’s Food Valley—FoodX Netherlands’ mission is to provide a gateway connecting international delegations, businesses, and policymakers with the Dutch agri-food innovation ecosystem. Benjamin Maclean from BRIG BIO also shared their work developing dairy proteins through precision fermentation for medical nutrition, with the aim of creating solutions that support human health while reducing impact on nature. Events like this highlight the strength of Europe’s Food Valley ecosystem—where collaboration between organizations, researchers, and entrepreneurs helps accelerate the development of sustainable food solutions. With Olsen Organic B.V. located at the World Food Center campus in Ede and BRIG BIO based nearby at Wageningen University & Research, we are grateful to be part of this connected food innovation corridor. Thank you to the FoodX Netherlands team for hosting an inspiring gathering and creating opportunities for meaningful connections across the food innovation community. #foodinnovation #foodvalleynl #worldfoodcenter #foodtech #olsenorganic by @olsenorganic

“When the business plan fails, the vision prevails.” That was the idea at the heart of Randy Olsen’s masterclass at KiCo in The Hague this week. Randy’s advice: write the plan, but don’t hold on to it too tightly. The business will show you what it wants to become. Founders pitched their brands, tasted each other’s products, shared ideas and gave honest feedback — creating a valuable day of learning together. Thank you to KiCo and all the founders who made it such a special day. #foodfounders #foodinnovation #kicokitchen #thehague #olsenorganic by @olsenorganic
An excellent group of food founders in The Hague this week, and a fun day learning together how the creative business vision prevails. Thank you to everyone who attended Randy Olsen’s masterclass at KiCo and helped make it such a special and valuable day. #foodfounders #kicokitchen #foodinnovation #thehague #olsenorganic by @olsenorganic
Join Randy Olsen’s masterclass in The Hague next month: When the business plan fails, the vision prevails. Drawing on more than 40 years of entrepreneurial experience, Randy will share practical examples and tools from his own journey — from building an organic food company and launching a distribution business from scratch, to co-founding a $122 million public aquarium that more than one expert said couldn’t be done. The masterclass will explore three qualities no business plan can teach: audacity, perseverance and creative problem-solving — and how these qualities can help founders adapt when the business starts telling you it wants to become something different than what was originally planned. Randy is also an advisor for food founders in The Hague, having followed Sjacco from StartLife when he started the program there. It’s an excellent group of founders, stakeholders and experts, and we think anyone who can attend would enjoy the evening. Registration is free of charge, with bites, drinks and an opportunity to network. We’d love to see you there! 📍 The Hague 🎟️ Free registration — link in bio #foodentrepreneurship #foodinnovation #kico #thehague #olsenorganic by @olsenorganic
A very nice evening at World Food Center Drinks, hosted at Café Akoesticum. It was a pleasure to welcome colleagues and friends for a special and fun evening together. A few food founders brought their products to share, making it a great opportunity to taste, connect, and learn more about the people behind them. Afterward, we took a short tour of the World Food Center campus, where Olsen Organic is also based. A special thank you to our host, Akoesticum. It feels like such a natural blend to have music and the arts as part of the food and agricultural innovation happening here at the World Food Center. After all, music and food always go together. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a fun evening. See you all next month! Keep an eye on the Olsen Organic events page for the next date. 🌱 #worldfoodcenternl #wageningen #foodinnovation #foodfounders #olsenorganic :: by @olsenorganic
What a great day at NIZO Start-up Day at the NIZO Food Innovation Campus! I really enjoyed learning more about NIZO’s facilities and capabilities, including the pilot plant, and connecting with so many people across the food and health innovation ecosystem. It was particularly exciting to be included in discussions around the new shared facility and Food Innovation Park @foodinnovationpark , which will significantly expand the capabilities and opportunities already present at NIZO and further strengthen Europe’s Food Valley here in the Netherlands. It was also very nice to connect again with Kees Pieters of @provinciegelderland, hear about the challenges and progress of Vivici with Marcel Wubbolts and @nopalmingredients with Heleen Goorissen, and meet Paulo Silveira and learn more about the collaboration with Brazilian organization @foodtechhublatam A big thank you to Mariken Gaanderse for her enthusiasm and excellent matchmaking, helping bring so many people and ideas together. And thank you to Nikolaas Vles, René Floris, PhD, Punita Manga, and Celine de Rooij-Brattinga for the warm welcome and hospitality. Great people, great conversations, great food — and lots to look forward to! #nizo #foodinnovation #foodvalleynl #foodstartups #olsenorganic by @olsenorganic

The first day of RotFest fermentation festival was a huge success. A wide variety of fermented foods, beverages, and some excellent workshops. The event was very well organized, and we had a great time, grateful to be included. by @olsenorganic
A valuable visit to the Wageningen University & Research Food Innovation Kitchen on Wageningen Campus. This new facility, located in Plus Ultra II, provides a shared, well-equipped environment for ingredient design, food development and product testing. With two application kitchens, a demonstration kitchen, analytical and processing equipment, and supporting facilities, companies can develop and test products without needing to make the same investment in their own infrastructure. Developed in partnership with @uniwageningen Wageningen University & Research, Kadans Science Partner and @startlifenl , the Food Innovation Kitchen is a great addition to the Food Valley ecosystem and strengthens the collaborative environment for food innovation in Wageningen. Available for both single- and multi-day use, it offers a flexible resource for startups, scale-ups and established food companies. For Olsen Organic clients, we are happy to support setting up use of the facility and help you make the most of its capabilities. #foodinnovation #olsenorganic #wageningencampus #wageningen #foodproductdevelopment by @olsenorganic
