DJs, if you charge 100+ for a one- or two-hour set, what value and uniqueness are you bringing?

Technical skill matters, but it is only part of the equation. Strong DJs also demonstrate thoughtful selection, precise timing, crowd awareness and genuine engagement. Repeating the same sets year after year can push audiences away. Scenes evolve, and DJs must evolve with them.

Take ownership of your visibility. Record and share mixes, showcase your selections and help promote the events you play. If you expect promoters to invest in you, be willing to invest in yourself.

Promoters have responsibilities, but DJs do too. Higher fees and greater recognition should reflect more than ambition—they should reflect real value, professionalism and continued growth.

The best DJs do not simply fill a time slot; they give people a reason to remember the night. by @omanevents
