Started the week right! 👏🏼
It was nice to see a lot of familiar faces today, to reach new highs, to go out & eat a good recovery meal with the boys…

But none of those luxuries are afforded to the people & children of Ga-Za, so that’s why we all came together to raise awareness this morning.

I used to call race runners crazy, & now they’re doing it back to me 😂 but rightfully so…
No training, no regimen, no tracking, no 5k or 10k warmup, just a couple months of getting my legs back under me with a weighted vest & the desire for more from myself…

I wasn’t chasing a time, I wasn’t chasing a win, I wasn’t competing with anyone.
I had to show myself that I can tap into a next level… how much further can I take my discipline?

Last year I hurt my left leg in 3 different places, no contact during soccer.

Nothing career ending to a professional athlete,
but it humbled me & tested me mentally.
I spent half my summer staring at the condition of my leg & cried a few times.
Not about the injury, but from worry that I wouldn’t be able to challenge myself further.

When my friend hit me up last fall suggesting we run the spring #brooklynhalf, I said ‘hell yea bro’, & I made it a mission.

‘Once I recover from my injury I’m gonna run the half marathon as my next challenge.’

Prove to myself AGAIN, that I can bounce back harder than I fell.

Thank you to my friends & family for all their advice, support, & encouragement towards my first race finish.
Shoutout to the other runners who pushed me along the route, & @nycruns staff for their encouragement to everyone running.
