10+ years ago I was an aspiring artist until corporate life sucked the creativity out of me. This is my journey of getting back on track.

📺 The Simpsons - Future Bart x Anime

It started as a random doodle with the eyes, then hair, then I said to myself, "I'm gonna make an anime version of a future Bart". And so I did.

I had a lot of fun doing this piece as I was really trying to master the soft and hard shadows (that's what she said) and just went in with small details that add to the overall image.

🎮 Street Fighter's one and only Ryu
💻 Done in Krita

Second piece of digital art. You'll see the final piece changed completely from how the original sketch looked. Been finding my way and figuring out things as I go along. I've also been using all the tools to my advantage to save time and make changes that would take hours with a pencil and paper 😂. Had a lot of fun doing this one and really getting a feel for shading and highlights as well as figuring out my own techniques for creating!
Also a huge shout out to @gigglesmcloud for added creative input to make this piece what it is 🙏

🎮Mega Man X
💻Done on a Surface Pro 7 in Krita

First ever digital piece! 🥳🥳🥳

Art was always seen as a hobby in my household and was never taken seriously as what could be a career. I wanted to go in to an art program after highschool but was told to focus on a business/computers degree and I could do art on the side later. In the end it took me a while to get back to art, but the universe always has a plan.

Sketching has always been something I've done but I've never truly focused on it. 2020 was the revival of pulling out the sketchbook and dusting off my skills. In 2021 I'm levelling the f*ck up and going hard with my passion. I shied away from digital because of the learning curve and not knowing where/how to start. But last weekend I gave it a shot and was determined to do it and this post is a result of that.

This is a pretty big milestone for my goals and future plans. I am an artist, tried and true. Time to bring my imagination to life 😁✌️

Trafalgar D. Water Law

It's been almost a year since I've drawn anything. I originally planned to just sit down and start doodling but then THIS happened. Feeling great about the shading and details on this one.

While I was working on it I realized I had some anxiety prior to putting a pencil to paper. I felt like if I did sketch it had to be perfect in every regard. When I had the mindset to just sit down and doodle, I managed to create something greater than I expected.

You can do all the planning in the world but it will be nothing without taking action and just DOING it. Don't let your internal fears get to you about the things you want to do or create. You never know how it will turn out.

I AM THE MAN... WHO WILL BECOME THE PIRATE KING!!!

Tried something a bit different for a post and added progress shots.

One Piece has been a huge part of my life for the past 15 years or so (and I know it has been for many others as well). We're coming close to the end of the story and my my what a journey it has been. Most people might be intimidated with the length, but getting into it will be the best choice you'll ever make. The story, characters, the sheer brilliance of the world; @echiro_odaa has created one of the most amazing stories ever told. It will be an extremely sad day when the series comes to an end 😭
