An honor to preach at First Baptist Church South Hill. Bless you, Pastor Wise!
“Now while Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him as he saw that the city was full of idols. So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with those who happened to be there…So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: “Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious. For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription: ‘To the unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.”

What does it actually look like to be a Christian and a citizen — when race, identity, and politics are all on the table?

A Brand new episode just dropped. Our very own Omar Jackson sat down with Dr. Vince Bacote — theologian, professor at Wheaton College, and author of The Political Disciple — to talk about what faithful engagement really looks like for believers navigating this cultural moment. This one is for the Christians who feel the tension but don’t know where to start.

You can’t allow the fear of others to dictate the trajectory of your life.

For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

The older I get, the more convinced I am that life is not meant to be lived alone.

Some of the greatest gifts God gives us are the people who walk with us through life. The friends who show up. The spouse who sees you fully. The community that reminds you who you are when life gets overwhelming.

At thirty years old, I’m grateful for the people God has placed around me. by @omarljackson

Watching you become a mother has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. From the very beginning, you have carried motherhood with such beauty, strength, patience, and grace. The way you love, nurture, sacrifice, and care for our son leaves me in awe every single day.

Klay is truly blessed to have a mother like you, and I know one day he will fully realize just how deeply he has been loved by you from the beginning.

I pray today you feel celebrated, appreciated, and deeply loved on your first Mother’s Day because you truly deserve the world. Thank you for being such an incredible wife and the most amazing mother to our son. We love you endlessly. ❤️ by @omarljackson

Sometimes suffering becomes the place where we come to know Christ more deeply than we would have known Him in comfort.

In this episode, Omar sits down with Esau McCaulley for a conversation that’s as thoughtful as it is formative.
Esau is a New Testament scholar, professor at Wheaton College, pastor, and contributing writer for the New York Times. His work often sits at and explores the intersection of faith, culture, and scholarship.

Together, they explore Esau’s faith rooted in the Black experience and how it shapes the way he reads the Bible and impacted his intellectual journey. Through metaphors they talk through the tension between experience and theology, and how our stories can both inform and challenge how we engage the text.

Diving into this beauty and complexity Esau shares how our perspectives can help us see things others miss, while also reminding us of the need to stay rooted in the truth of God’s Word.

This episode is an invitation to hold both the spiritual and the intellectual. To embrace mystery, pursue understanding, and remain anchored in a high view of Scripture.

If you’ve ever wrestled with how your story shapes your faith, or how culture and theology come together—this conversation is for you. by @omarljackson

I’ve found myself thinking a lot about the days after the resurrection. After raising, Jesus remained on earth for 40 days, making Himself known. There’s something beautiful about Him dying for us and then sharing life with His creation again. by @omarljackson

What you meditate on will shape how you interpret your life.

Your circumstances are real. Your pain is real. But they are not the final authority.

God’s character is.

And when you learn to interpret your life through who He is, even the hard parts can begin to make sense.

The Bible is more than to be rushed through or to receive quick affirmations. It is a text to be lived with and continually reflected on. It opens itself to those who slow down. by @omarljackson
