« Please forgive me Paris »

Omar Al Jiwari is a French photographer who was born in Baghdad and grew up in Paris. His work is a vibrant and contemporary interpretation of humanist street photography, characterized by a sophisticated and modern use of color.

His journey into photography began with a fascination for portraiture. However, his perspective changed after the pandemic, and he became attracted to the energy of the street, which is now his primary passion. In all his work, he makes a point to include a person in the frame as his way of connecting with the human element.

His style is defined by a great use of color and layers which he uses to infuse his images with emotion and narrative. He is a passionate traveler who enjoys getting lost in new environments to capture unique moments.

His vision is heavily influenced by masters of color and humanistic photography like Alex Webb, Harry Gruyaert, and Steve McCurry.

Istanbul buses.
Inside them, the city breathes, smokes, dozes off, reflects, and sometimes — smiles.
