What a great way to wake up this morning! Feeling the deafening quiet of the empty house this week and wondering if the kids are surviving so far away. Then I get this sent to me in a text! Syd got awarded her official locker name plate this morning at practice! It’s official! She’s a Wildcat now! taken in Northern Michigan University by @omatheny

Dropping our daughter, Sydney, off for her freshman year at Northern Michigan University was easily one of the hardest things we’ve ever done as parents. 💚💛
We officially drove away from Marquette, but it truly feels like we left half of our hearts behind in the Upper Peninsula. Coming back home to such a quiet house is a completely surreal feeling. The silence is deafening, and the adjustment is so unbelievably tough.
Even through the tears, we are bursting with pride. We know she is going to do amazing things both in the classroom and in the pool as a Wildcat on the swim team! 🏊‍♀️💨
Go Wildcats! We love you so much, Sydney! 💚💛 #NMU #WildcatNation #ProudParents #CollegeBound #SwimMom #SwimDad taken in Northern Michigan University by @omatheny
