At 22 years old, Cisco's body started changing.

His coat grew long and curly. He began gaining weight while losing topline. Then one morning, he wouldn't eat.

His owner called the vet, and bloodwork confirmed Cushing's.

Alongside the veterinary care recommended for him, she brought Omega Horseshine back into Cisco's daily diet. Over time, she began noticing changes in his coat, condition, and overall appearance.

His transformation was noticeable enough that when she shared photos in online horse communities, other owners started asking, “What are you feeding him?”

Cisco's story is a reminder that caring for an older horse often means looking at the whole picture, from veterinary care to daily nutrition.

The Original Omega Horseshine® is the simplest place to start when looking to add omega-3s from flax.

Starting with premium stabilized ground flaxseed, we then add biotin, oats (tiny amount), yeast, vitamins, and organic chelated minerals to enhance its nutritional value. One of the practical benefits of this formula is its flexibility. Because the added vitamins and minerals do not provide the horse's full daily requirements at the recommended feeding rate, the serving can be adjusted when additional flaxseed is desired. by @omegafields

Omega Horseshine Complete starts with the same foundation of stabilized ground flaxseed as the original Omega Horseshine, but takes the formula further.

Complete adds a full vitamin/mineral package, including vitamin E, biotin, zinc, iron, copper, niacin, selenium, thiamine, riboflavin, vitamins A, D3, B6, iodine, etc. The feeding rate matters because the formula is designed to provide those nutrients at the recommended serving.

That’s an important distinction when it comes to feeding, because with Complete, it’s important to follow the recommended feeding rate. The formula is designed to provide vitamins and minerals in the intended serving size, and increasing the amount can result in too much of the vitamin/mineral levels.

If you'd like the flexibility of adding additional flax when desired or don't require the additional vitamins and minerals, the original Omega Horseshine or Omega Antioxidant are great options too! by @omegafields
