the violin teacher i had growing up put her metal-string-calloused hands on my face & told me she loved my mind. she was leaving 4 new york city 4ever, & i didn’t understand the condoling expression on her face when she said it at the time. so many years have passed, & i can see now that she must have known.deanne, i made it 2 26! one of the books you let me take b4 you left is still my favourite book 2 this day. i’ve learned that everything is cyclical, & there is neutrality in that fact. i haven’t done any scales or dominant 7ths in a long, long time, but i can make even god stop+listen every time i pick up my instrument & just play. every sound i hear is a note in the key of the violin. i know i am abundant with talent & kindness & mistakes & beauty & intellect & perpetual horror. i flirt with regret, but she never comes home with me. the gorgeous pink cigarette is a prop. my lighter is stüssy, & my lip gloss is dior (uber backseat found object). i live+die 4 colour theory (by some miracle, it comes naturally 2 me) & 4 maximalism that is as intentional as it is chaotic. obsessive. lifemaxxing simplifies everything. i 4give it all; all of it comes back 2 me. i’ve thawed away a lot of my past that keeps me frozen, but the love remains. grows, even. i’m still working on some leftover bitterness, which i am okay with. it means i’m real. i finally stopped searching 4 evidence of that somewhere along the way. the years amount 2 my current practices in detaching from outcome; it’s catharsis everywhere, all of the time. everything i do, i do as an exercise in getting better. i’m here now, gone l8er. my left hand’s metal-string-calloused fingertips will always remember the feeling. WAKE UP, DARK POSTER!⋆˚꩜｡ poster from the archives 4 @pinkyb.inky a.k.a. the iconic principal of hey mamas academy + cofounder of @bebeclub___ ♬ ♪ ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و(05.2025) this was a revamped version of a previous poster i had designed 4 binky’s monthly @bsidedotradio show, & it was made at a time i was exploring the full extent of procreate’s typographic capabilities. all type, effects, illustrations, & textures were done on my ipad (procreate). my super osm grade 12 bio teacher, ms. coady, instilled in me the valuable idea that one should always work smarter & not harder, which is a concept that is constantly informing my design processes as i refine & rework ways 2 do things more efficiently each time. so! while there is definitely merit 2 keeping everything in one place & not having 2 manually export assets back & forth between procreate on my ipad & adobe illustrator on my laptop, my gr8est takeaway from this era of my design work is that i will never attempt 2 do typography in procreate ever again; its limited type/layout functions result in an excess of time spent in futility ‧₊ ᵎᵎ⋅ ˚✮ because of projects like this from my period of experimentation, my current approach 2 design now consists of properly utilizing each software in my rotation 4 its own respective strengths, as opposed 2 cutting corners in pursuit of transient convenience.#omelettearchive #iloveplaying #graphicdesignismypassion by @omeletteworld
