POSTS STORIES REELS
Am I extremely late to making this post? Absolutely🫣😂 I’ve been accepted as one of the Campers! I Arc read for one of my favorite authors, I’m so excited to be here! I love this group so much y’all definitely match my weird🫶🏼 If you’re interested in extreme horror, erotic horror, or dark romance check out some of @authorlacamphouse books! Read those triggers and happy reading!🩸💀 by @omens.shelf
Misery by: Stephen King 4⭐️ I’m surprisingly glad I had this on my Libby holds! I try to stay clear of Mr. King, but my mom is a pretty big fan so I figured I’d give him another chance and I enjoyed all of the twists and turns in this one. I originally wanted to watch the movie for spooky season and decided to give this read a try. And I gotta say it was much more darker than I remembered! I really really wish they could get Kathy Bates to narrate this book! I could just imagine her going all out for the narration as well. “I’m in trouble here. This woman is not right.” “You can’t burn Misery, you cockadoodie brat, you can’t burn Misery” by @omens.shelf
Little photo dump of my book club this month🫶🏼 from Verity, The Wickerman the PowerPoints lol. I really cannot express how much I enjoy spending time with yall! Happy Halloween my favorite bookish gal pals!! by @omens.shelf
Vixens & Venoms By: D.L. Darby 5⭐️ Third and last book in the Serial Killer Book Club! No blurb needed if you’ve been following along with this series we’re already well acquainted with Vixey and Todd🤭 I was a little nervous going in, just because I was unsure on how I felt about Vixey… but I quickly become OBSESSED👀🔥 BOTH of our main characters have so much trauma and it really tugged at my heart! I enjoyed watching this unfold!! And I think this maybe my favorite in the series. I cant wait to get a copy to have on my shelf with the first two. As always @authordldarby it’s been a pleasure! I cannot wait to see what else your brain comes up with, I’m becoming pretty obsessed with your work🫶🏼 **Check those triggers! This is part of a series I highly recommend reading in order to properly feel all the feels** “I murdered someone for you, my little vixen, I murmur to the air. Like it or not, you owe me.” “But you are a rare delicacy to be sipped and savored. Not consumed in one bite.” “Whatever demons you have inside you, they call to mine.” “Oh, my sweet, vicious thing. Todd steps into me, lifting my chin to kiss me gently, a smirk curving his lips against mine. I’m not going to cage you. I’m going to set you free.” by @omens.shelf
Your Loathsome Neighbor By: Deathly Rose 4.5⭐️ Hear me out! This one is super intriguing to me, and I loved the originality of it. As someone who’s not tech savvy and is extremely new to Discord. This one has me HOOKED. I’m sure that’s terrible to say because of the theme but 🤷🏻‍♀️ To never fully know who someone is behind a screen…. This was a great reminder! Though the format is the news castings and discord chat…. Guys…. I loved it… I’m simply here to say for my horror people check it out! I need someone to yap with lol by @omens.shelf
Falling Like Leaves By: Misty Wilson I fear I’m the problem with this read.. so not rating! This is my book clubs pick of the month, and obviously the book is stuuunnniiiinnnnngggggg!😍✨ I however hated both of our main characters. And I honestly think it might be me! Maybe I’m getting too old to fully appreciate a festive YA because I really just wanted to shake some sense into both of our main characters!!!!! Sorry guys, no quotes lol this one really hurt my feelings😂😂 by @omens.shelf
The Creed Falls Massacre By Jon Cohn 4.5⭐️ Yoooooooooooooooooooooooo I loved this book! I think I saw cosmic horror as a sub genre and I had to check it out! This book has everything: -Summer camp -Slasher -Small town -Aliens? Things? -Meteorite -Generational trauma -THE final show down I’m obviously obsessed I didn’t anticipate liking this one as much as I did! Thoughts? Has anyone else read this yet??👀 Blurb: NAH this quote literally describes it perfectly- “So, you’re all having a party at Camp Creed to celebrate my mother killing my father after he slaughtered nineteen people, and you want me to be, what, your mascot?” “Instead of just coming in here and hacking them to pieces, the psycho killer is playing “Psycho Killer” by The Talking Heads to torment them.” “The Creed Falls Massacre. It’s happening again.” by @omens.shelf
Non bookish post! A weekend at The Renaissance festival with my love😌🔥 Annnnnndddd I turned out being decent at long bow so obviously I kept track of my winnings 🏹🌞 by @omens.shelf
Coraline by Neil Gaiman 4⭐️ A classic, nothing more nothing less. I had to read it to prepare for spooky season… Now to rewatch the movie for the 10,000 time:) “It’s always easier to be afraid of something you cannot see.” “Because, she said. When you’re scared but you still do it anyway, that’s brave.” by @omens.shelf
The Way We Rot By: Hazel Black 5⭐️ Let me start off by saying THIS BOOK FUCKED ME UUUUUUUPPPPPP🔥✨ I obviously will be back for this author! My jaw? On the floor soooooooo many times AND THAT ENDING are you kidding? Sorry I’m so shook up with this book I can’t even type a proper review! And it’s been a couple days at this point! I’m seriously at a loss for words *insert screaming voice note here* 🚨Read the trigger warnings!!!🚨 This is an extremely dark read! Be mindful they’re there for YOU🫶🏼 “Don’t lie to me, little killer; you won’t enjoy what happens.” “She was evil, but her evil had infested me, made me rot, turned me into a monster like her.” by @omens.shelf
We Were Never Really Friends By Timothy King 4⭐️ Trapped on an island? ✔️ Nowhere to hide? ✔️ Prey vs. hunter?✔️ Friend group tea? ✔️ It’s something about these tropes that I just run to👀😏 this really did it for me, perfect summerween/ hunted /who dunnit vibes. My only complaint was the lack of depth in our friend group. But if you’re looking for a fast paced and action packed read go ahead and check this out Mini blurb: A friend groups reunion on one of their private islands turns deadly. A masked man shows up and starts to pick the group off one by one. Can they make it? Do we learn the identity of our killer? Also….. why am I so irritated with this ending🫠😭 “Her eyes drifted to the cliff she fell from. The man was leaning over the ledge, watching her die.” “Guilt stabbed his chest. He abandoned his wife and betrayed his best friend’s memory with in minutes of each other.” by @omens.shelf
When @authordldarby decides to bless you and let you have a sneak peak at your favorite serial killer book club gals!!! 🚨Release date: October 13th!🚨 Also yes, I’m getting in the spooky season mood!🎃📚 Review to come🤭😌 by @omens.shelf
