Thank you, AFCON, for giving me a platform to show love for the country that holds my entire heart. Sudan is my identity, and I will never shy away from it.

We went through a roller coaster of emotions. We stank up the capital of Morocco with our haramball in front of Zidane, we understood the assignment and had to put in the work.

We gave it our all and managed to defeat a strong Equatorial Guinea side, soaring high in the skies of Casablanca. We were living in a state of euphoria we had delivered the unimaginable by qualifying.

In the Burkina Faso game, we scared the hoes but despite the loss, we turned Casablanca into Omdurman and partied like we had won it all, even though the football we displayed probably shouldn’t have been televised. That night was about pride and presence.

We entered the siege of Tangier facing a Super Saiyan Senegalese team, the favourites of the tournament. We played the game of football and lost with our heads held high. We entertained, we challenged, and we soared once again. We scored a diamond of a goal that will be engraved in my memory forever.

I am proud of the Sudanese fans who SHOWED UP for their country regardless of the challenges that we all know and displayed their unwavering love. I am proud of the Sudanese football team, who gave everything to put a smile on Sudanese faces during their darkest moments.

Thank you, Morocco, for your prayers for Sudan you all ate with that. I am proud of the Moroccans and everyone who stood with us and showed genuine love.
