POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I got to help tell this beautiful story of a Puerto Rican woman weaving through the cuentos of her mother, her tias, and especially her grandmother, known as mamá, and the very real, very current struggles and resilience, even just existing, specifically as Puerto Rican women, centered and highlighted in The Wedding March.

I’m so happy to be a small part of that for all marginalized and Latina women, like the many superwomen in my own family but especially as one of triumph and not just “listen to my sob story”, but one of exploration, investigation, remembering, and preservation and perseverance.

It’s beautiful, it’s poetic, and the music, just sublime, and really is the perfect bow that ties together poems, movement and stories, and transports even us on stage to a world, that can only be described as the real version of our set, in a small town in the Caribbean islands at a casita with a mango tree that swirls in the cloudy memories of my past.

Thank you to the powerful women at the forefront of this piece, especially @jenyvettevega @rosalmargarita and @rosalbarolonr!

Love you ladies!

ARENDI… 💛Tío Fern Loves you💚

The words in the post say it all but…

I want you to learn your history as soon as possible. To know all of who you are. Your parents want that, too. And I start here. I love you so much already. Enjoy. Thank you @juan_ness and @carin0_ . I didn’t know I cared this much about passing something on. Thank you for letting me be a part of that.

Thank you @lildominicanreaders @dominicanwriters and all the Dominican Artists who I’ve met, interacted with or followed in the last few years. @lildominicanreaders and I KNOW what it’s like to not see yourself in what we read/see/hear/experience, (last 2 slides) and this, is something special. Helping us give what we didn’t get. #PlatanoPower.

Don’t know them like that LOL but I tagged the @lildominicanreaders box in a slide, so if you want it, you can buy it by clicking that! #socialmedia

F.B.I. - (Fernando, Brandon, Ismael) - heading into 36, with these two by my side, couldn’t forget last year even if I wanted to. They are a BIG part of that. FBI had our biggest year yet individually, and thus as a unit. #differenttimezones #besties #fbi

1. F - I mentioned already, but I had the honor of working on @julianchristo’s “Bruise & Thorn” Off Broadway, produced by @pipelinetheatre, a company of which I am a founding member.
2. Celebrating The NY Times Critic Pick Review IN the paper with @ismaelcruzcordova was a highlight of my career and life.
3. B - @brandonkylegoodman has had some good recent years, but THIS year, Brandon got their first book published. STOP everything and go read it. #yougottabeyou
4. I had the distinct pleasure of going to a real BOOK SIGNING with Brandon at a NYC @barnesandnoble - LIKE….
5. I - @ismaelcruzcordova premiered as #Arondir, the first Black/Afro-Latino Elf in the #lotr @lotronprime series #RingsOfPower. *As I wrote this, he facetimes Brandon and myself about his Critic’s Choice Award Nomination… WHAT?
6. NY Premiere of LOTR ROP First Two Episodes
7. The Two of them at the Emmy’s 2022 (Ismael was presenting).
8. FBI when we thought 2014 was our year… by @omgitzfern
