Sometimes all you need is to listen to some dreamy/atmospheric Chilean underground rap songs. 🇨🇱

Ever since I discovered him last year, there aren’t many things I enjoy as much as listening to neva pray, especially because he excels at atmospheric, hazy sounds that sometimes manage to take my body and my mind somewhere else.

But if the more dedicated of you know how much I love his music and know that I could have easily made this post entirely around his discography, he’s not the only one using these kinds of sounds. Others in Chile are exploring them with a lot of quality.

I’m particularly thinking of moneynumbdapain, who self-produces, as well as the beautiful productions of hatemoss.

So I thought it was about time to give them their flowers and put the spotlight on some amazing artists who are making the future of the Chilean underground rap scene incredibly exciting. by @omind_0

The collab projects I’d love to see

We haven’t had that many memorable collaborative projects in recent years, whether in the underground or mainstream scenes, and yet, my favorite project of the year so far is one.

The Argentine duo Swaggerboyz, made up of Stiffy and Agusfortnite2008, managed to do what many have failed to achieve with PERDIENDO RASGOS ADOLESCENTES : create a memorable joint project where both artists seem to become one while still showcasing their individual personalities. It wasn’t exactly their first time doing it, but still.

So, in an era where collectives and mutual support seem to be taking up more and more space, especially in underground scenes, I had fun imagining some collaborative projects that I think could work really well, especially because of the chemistry between these duos. To me, that’s one of the essential elements of a successful collaborative project, although it should never come at the expense of artistic chemistry.

Some of these have already been more or less confirmed, like the French one 63Kluf and 63OG. Others have been mentioned, while some seem a little more unrealistic, even though I’m still holding out hope !

When European artists hop on Ok’s beats. 🇺🇸

Seeing anyone work with ok is always exciting, especially when it’s OsamaSon or Nettspend, but he’s also been working more with European artists. Particularly with Fakemink, but also with French artist Jeune Morty. And yesterday, it was German artist shosharascal who dropped a new song produced by ok. I also discovered this cool track from Polish artist 9ssey.

With his first mixtape supposedly dropping soon, I hope we’ll get to see more European artists on it besides Fakemink, even though I’m not really expecting it to happen.

It shows another side of ok’s production, adapting to the sensibilities of these different artists, especially on tracks like “Music & Me” or Morty’s “Katy Perry.”

Anyway, I’d really love to see him work with Italian artists Glocky and Waze RRX. I also think it would be interesting to see him alongside someone like Young Eman, Fimiguerrero, 63Kluf, or even another Polish artist like Wane.

Which european artist would you like him to work with ?

My top 5 and review of C by Lucy Bedroque 🇺🇸

With c, Lucy Bedroque answers the hype without overdoing it. Teased for months, the project had become one of the most anticipated releases from a scene constantly craving its next dopamine hit, and the audience got exactly that, a dose that should be more than enough to keep them satisfied until the next one.

The project kicks off with a real vocal slap from the artist. Raw, devastating, that’s how “ALL SPEAKERS GO TO HEAVEN” comes in. At first, you could have expected the whole project to follow that direction, but in the end, this is the only track carrying that specific vocal imprint. I think it’s for the best, as it makes the song feel even more important and unique within the project.

The rest of the project showcases a comfortable and confident Lucy Bedroque who knows exactly what he’s capable of. With a wide range of vocal variations, he lays out the versatility that truly makes him stand out. It makes the project a very enjoyable listen, especially with the excellent production behind it, which also brings its own share of versatility. Moving between raw and melodic atmospheres, everything feels well executed and flows naturally. I particularly enjoy how well the project balances these different sides.

Despite that, the project can sometimes feel a little repetitive, and that’s despite only having 15 tracks. This is also partly due to the themes explored which are really repetitive and which don’t necessarily add much extra interest to some of the songs.

Ultimately, there isn’t really much risk-taking here. Lucy Bedroque does Lucy Bedroque. He’s trying to establish his vocal identity more firmly at a time when rage and its various styles seem to be reaching the end of their cycle. Without reinventing anything, Lucy Bedroque manages to deliver once again, building on what he had already done on his previous project, unmusique. It doesn’t necessarily do more, but it doesn’t really do less either. by @omind_0

Who the f*** is mavyrmldy ? 🇧🇷

The Brazilian has established himself as one of the key figures in the underground scene, both as a rapper and a producer. He produced for DESSIIIK, yukigai, luangelus, and even MATUÊ, making him a real connector within the scene, while also showcasing his ability to navigate multiple different styles.

I came across a post on Reddit saying that the UK underground scene is dying. It sparked a conversation among people involved in the UK underground scene, and honestly, it surprised me.

Not being from the UK might make me less legitimate to talk about it, but as someone looking at the scene from the outside, I’d say that the UK scene is still and has been since 2024 one of the most creative scenes, if not the most creative, in the world. It has artists that became some of the hottest names in the global underground rap scene, even reaching a level of hype that went beyond some US artists. Fakemink, EsDeeKid, Feng, Fimiguerrero and you can add names like Jim Legxacy, YT, Len, Sinn6r and Ledbyher to that list.

Now, this criticism comes in a context where major releases have supposedly become less frequent and newer names supposedly “aren’t as interesting” anymore. And I think these criticisms raise some pretty interesting points that aren’t exclusive to the UK.

First of all, let’s give artists some time to develop their craft. Let them take their time to create bodies of work that can actually leave a mark, especially at a time when music can be “consumed” and forgotten barely two weeks after its release.

Then, the criticism about new names seems to imply that the wave represented by Fakemink, Feng, Sinn6r, EsDeeKid and others is already fading, or that these artists no longer represent the underground scene. That can obviously be argued for some of them, but still, most of these artists are only at the beginning of their careers.

And honestly, I think this criticism is even more flawed when you look at how many new names are incredibly interesting right now. N4T, Ciel, Young Eman just to name a few are all featured in this selection, which is deliberately made exclusively of songs released within the past two months, just to show how productive and consistent this scene still is, both creatively and musically.

So, no, the UK underground scene isn’t dying. Quite the opposite, it feels like it’s ready to accelerate even further and establish itself more permanently across the world. by @omind_0

1280themostwanted is a Spanish director, editor and VFX artist. 🇪🇸

I first came across his work when I met him in Spain last March. He told me how cold Noahsocold was if i may, as well as the French Lamomss, and you can definitely see how they inspired him in the way he approaches his own editing.

He has worked with many interesting names such as Tezzus, G La Sosita, YT, Protect and Turrobaby, just to name a few.

And yeah, I love the way he edits, it’s always fun, impactful and truly bring something cool to the videos he works on. He just keeps going harder and harder, pushing his vision and his art, and I can’t wait to see him directing more videos.

The Nigerian underground scene went crazy this summer. 🇳🇬

While making my post about my favorite projects of this summer, I realized just how many exciting drops we got from the Nigerian scene over the past two months.

I’m mainly talking about projects here, with the excellent EP from Paxslim that I already talked about on here, the EP from one of the leaders of the scene, Zaylevelten, as well as projects from Egertton, Luwa.mp4 and S1ordie. But I also had to include singles from Blaccboy and Onoola-sama because they were simply too addictive to leave out.

Overall, these are genuinely great projects that showcase the diversity and talent of a scene I’ve already talked about a lot and will continue to highlight as much as I can !

And this momentum doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Zaylevelten’s EP was only a B4 for his upcoming project, which I’m really looking forward to and which should hopefully continue to open doors for the scene. by @omind_0
