OMRA
TUNNEL JACKET
SAMPLE01
“NOMAD” // FW27

After 6 years of hard work and sleepless nights I’m proud to present my first sample for my upcoming collection “NOMAD”. This will be 1 out of 5 garments which will be released for this drop and it is definitely the one closest to my heart.

The Tunnel Jacket draws inspiration from Vietnam and Laos, shaped by my experiences while travelling through Southeast Asia. During my time in Vietnam, I visited the Củ Chi Tunnels, an underground network used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. The confined and claustrophobic nature of the tunnels forced the body into a compressed, restricted posture, which is reflected in the jacket’s scrunched collar and gathered sleeves.

Future iterations of the jacket will explore its connection to Laos through rust-dyed leather and handcrafted jewellery created by Laotian artisans using reclaimed UXO materials, often made from steel and aluminium remnants. These unexploded ordnance pieces are a reminder of the heavy bombing campaign Laos endured during the war, despite not being an official participant in the conflict. The jacket aims to carry these histories forward, transforming remnants of hardship into objects of craft, memory, and meaning. by @omra.___
