🌞Summer Solstice 2026🌞

Thank you to those who joined me tonight for our annual summer solstice/ International Yoga Day celebrations.

Our practice included #suryanamaskar of course, to honour the sun, and it was a treat being able to use Rosie’s @prembhaktiyog singing bowl during yoga nidra 🙏🏼

Always lovely to see the solstice crew @marqkearey @basiakzaczernie @studioshillito @meeshbut and your beautiful families. We missed you @brainsinadish @maudbarrett and yours, and everyone else who usually joins us. And it was really special to have some newcomers who, I’m sure, will want to make this a yearly thing too.

Thankful for having yoga in my life and for the connections it has brought.

ॐ सूर्याय नमः (Om Suryaya Namaha)

Solstice love to all 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞

Freshly foraged in spring, stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) is a hidden gem 🌿✨

Nettle tea is not just nourishing—it’s incredibly soothing for the throat. Packed with vitamins and natural anti-inflammatory goodness, it helps calm irritation, ease dryness, and support your body when you’re feeling run down.

A simple cup of wild nettle tea = comfort, care, and a little taste of spring 💚

Let’s see if it heals my laryngitis 🤞

Just back from the doctor’s who’s confirmed I have laryngitis so these wonderful #ayurvedic herbs from @the_ayurveda_alchemist couldn’t have arrived at a better time.

🌿 Thalisadi Churna is a traditional Ayurvedic powder typically containing herbs such as long pepper, ginger, and cardamom. In Ayurveda, it’s used to:
• Soothe throat irritation
• Reduce cough and mucus
• Support clearer voice and breathing
• Balance “Kapha” (linked to congestion)

🌿 An Ashwagandha + Shatavari blend is a powerful rejuvenative (rasāyana) in Ayurveda—helping the body restore, rebalance, and rebuild 🌱

✨ Ashwagandha
→ Strengthens + reduces stress
→ Supports energy, recovery & calm

✨ Shatavari
→ Cools + nourishes
→ Soothes dryness & supports immunity

⚖️ Together:
Balance heat + hydration
Build resilience + restore vitality + ojas ‘vitality and immunity’
Support long-term energy, immunity & voice

💫 It’s time to restore, replenish, reset!

If you’re an Ayurvedic practitioner looking for excellent quality, certified formulated herbs, I can wholeheartedly recommend @the_ayurveda_alchemist

🌿✨ Starting my Ayurvedic cleanse! ✨🌿

Over the last two months, I’ve had excess mucus (Kapha imbalance) on and off, and the past two days I haven’t had a voice—so it feels like the perfect time to gently detox. 💛

I’m beginning with Agni Deepana (digestive fire enhancement) using:
• Pre-meal ginger & lime to awaken digestion 🌱
• Tailored Kichari – (photo 1) a nourishing, easy-to-digest dish made from mung beans and rice, perfect for supporting digestion and gently cleansing the body 🍚
• CCF (cumin, coriander, fennel) tea and dandelion root tea (photo 2), using dandelions picked from my allotment, to support elimination and reduce Kapha ☕

I’m waiting for Ashwagandha, Shatavari, and Thalisadi churna to arrive from the lovely @the_ayurveda_alchemist —then I’ll include those into my dinacharya. Thalisadi churna is a classic Ayurvedic herbal powder traditionally used to support respiratory and digestive health, helping to clear mucus, stimulate digestion, and support immunity. The Ashwagandha–Shatavari blend is a classic combination in Ayurveda, often used for rejuvenation, vitality, and hormonal support. ✨

This cleanse is not just detox—it’s about resetting my body, supporting Agni, balancing Kapha, and gently nourishing myself. I’ll be sharing reflections and learnings along the way! 🙏

If you’re not feeling your usual healthy self and would like to discuss a plan to bring yourself back into balance, please get in touch for an Ayurvedic consultation.
