FOUNDRY SEOUL is delighted to announce Omyo Cho’s participation in 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙊𝙪𝙩𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨, the sixth New Museum (@newmuseum) Triennial in New York.

The sixth New Museum Triennial, the first to take place within the newly opened OMA-designed expansion, is co-curated by Vivian Crockett, Allen and Lola Goldring Curator at the New Museum, and Isabella Rjeille, Curator at MASP–Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand, with Thalia Stefaniuk, Curatorial Assistant, and Taeyi Kim, Curatorial Fellow. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙊𝙪𝙩𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨 brings together works by 36 artists to destabilize fixed notions of territory, identity, gender, and sexuality and explore new possibilities for relationships, kinships, and collaborations. On view from February 4 to May 16, 2027.

[Omyo Cho - Centre Pompidou Hanwha]

PODIUM is proud to share that Omyo Cho’s (@omyocho) installations including her latest work ‘Amorpho’ (2026) are currently on view at the exhibition ‘Imprinting Time’ at Centre Pompidou Hanwha (@centrepompidouhanwha).

Bringing together three Korean women artists from distinct generations, the exhibition explores the meaning of the objects, words, and events they encounter in the realities they have lived. Omyo Cho invites into the garden unknown life forms that seem to resemble nature and parts of the body yet remain strangely unfamiliar. With the curves of vines, the glimmer of dew, and the strength of roots, these beings crash-land here and coexist with nature. As if extracted from a future yet to arrive, the slowly seep into the climate and landscape of the present. In doing so, they imbue this familiar place with a sudden sense of the unfamiliar.

𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘇𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗼𝘂𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗙𝟬𝟯: 𝗢𝗺𝘆𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗼, 𝙎𝙞𝙨𝙠𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙖🛖

”The sculptures appear almost self-generated, growing not toward light but through the uncertain conditions of a world yet to come. As the boundaries between organism and environment gradually dissolve, viewers encounter the works as both living entities and evolving landscapes, entering an ecology defined by resilience rather than permanence. Together, the sculptures compose a landscape of continual becoming, reflecting life‘s fragile yet persistent capacity to imagine and sustain new modes of existence.“

[EXHIBITION] Centre Pompidou Hanwha First Garden Project: Imprinting Time
Centre Pompidou Hanwha expands the artistic experience into the outdoor space ’63 Oudolf Garden‘.
We proudly introduce our first garden project, Imprinting Time, taking the garden as a new stage to propose a novel viewing experience where the museum, nature, and the urban landscape come together in harmony.
Set against a backdrop of naturalistic landscaping, sculptures by three prominent Korean female artists representing different generations-Kim Yun Shin, Meekyoung Shin, and Omyo Cho-intertwine. Interacting dynamically with external elements such as plants, seasons, the Hangang river breeze, sunlight, and rain, the installed artworks leave behind new traces over the passage of time.

Frieze Seoul 2026 Focus Section: Omyo Cho, Siskatia
FOUNDRY SEOUL is pleased to announce its inaugural participation in Frieze Seoul 2026, presenting Siskatia, a solo presentation by Seoul-based sculptor Omyo Cho in the Focus section.
“Siskatia” is a word from the language of the Yagua people of the Peruvian Amazon that refers to living beings animated by vitality. For the Yagua, life is understood not merely as a biological condition, but as a way in which beings sustain one another through continual interaction.
Together, the sculptures compose a landscape, revealing life’s capacity to discover new modes of existence, regenerate, and form unexpected connections amid ever-shifting environments.

‘That’s what makes Seoul so fascinating,’ says Korean artist Omyo Cho (@omyocho), ‘the fact that so much has emerged from almost nothing.’

Cho shows us a ‘slower side to Seoul’, including the the city’s old jewellery district, the hidden green haven of Baeksasil Valley, the rooftop of the @seoulmuseumofart archives and a Buddhist temple at the foot of Samgaksan Mountain.

At Frieze Seoul with @foundryseoul, Cho presents a solo show of new sculptures – future lifeforms drawn from molten glass and metal. ‘It’s easy to think that if humanity disappears, the Earth ends too,’ she says. ‘But we might just be beings that appear briefly and then disappear.’

《Trajectories of Movement》 explores movement as
something that unfolds through time, continuously forming, changing, and leaving traces behind. Rather than understanding movement simply as the motion of the body, the exhibition considers it as a broader flow encompassing transformations of life, emotion, and the world around us.
The works of Omyo Cho, Yoon Jangho, and Lim Yunseo approach movement from different perspectives. Shifting worlds and emerging forms of life, emotions and sensations revealed through mechanical motion, and the paths left behind by the moving body each create distinct trajectories across the exhibition.
Rather than focusing on completed forms, the exhibition turns its attention to the time and processes that shape them. Through this, Trajectories of Movement invites viewers to sense the accumulated traces of movement and transformation that exist beyond what is immediately visible.

[Omyo Cho - Amour Aquatique]

In An Unwritten Song (Our Story Is Not Carved in Stone) (2026), Omyo Cho imagines a sentient being that lives and sings beneath the surface of water. Leaving no mark upon its surroundings, its presence is sensed only in the ripples of passing; their song, carried through vibration, exists momentarily before dissolving into silence.

Composed of marbled glass that resembles solidified water, the work inhabits a poetic tension between flow and fixity. Its shifting strata trace the instant when motion becomes form, as though fluid briefly remembers its own motion before returning to drift. The title gestures toward a philosophy of impermanence and renewal. Whereas human history depends on acts of inscription—on stone, on metal, on data—Cho’s imagined being resists this need for lasting record. A story not carved in a solid form remains open, mutable, and alive; it belongs to no single author but to the currents of time and collective becoming.

The marbled patterns within the glass evoke both interior and exterior—veins of blood, ocean currents, atmospheric drift—where body and world synchronise into an inseparable and continuous choreography. The sculpture captures not a finite form but a condition of being: existence sustained through change rather than endurance. Its song cannot be heard, only sensed—transmitted through light, gaze, and the slow resonance of time. The work invites stillness, yet nothing here is static: it stands as a meditation on life as shifting form—a hymn to what remains unwritten, yet endlessly felt.

Amour Aquatique

21 March -30 May 2026

Celebrating the gallery’s third anniversary alongside the Hong Kong Arts Month, PODIUM is proud to present ‘Amour Aquatique’-a group exhibition featuring Fran Chang (@fr_chang), Omyo Cho (@omyocho), Soyoung Chung (@soyoungchungsoyoung), Minouk Lim (@minouklim), and Luis Xertu (@luis.xertu). Their works pulse with the tensions of presence and absence, attachment and release, drawing viewers into the ebb and flow of aquatic love-at once universal and deeply intimate.

Drifting through the protean forms of water as metaphors for the fluidity of love, grief, nostalgia, and memory, works presented are inspired by the continuous cycles of looping, evaporating, pooling, eroding, and flowing, wading into the liminal spaces where personal and political waters entangle.
