Da, da, da, da…….🤴🇬🇧 Our last night in London was spent in the West End for dinner and a show. Hamilton, at The Victoria Palace Theatre, was the perfect capstone to our trip - an added piece to Britain’s history that brought forward the American colonies and their independence The musical, live, was so moving, visually captivating, fun and talent-filled!

King George III stole some additional stage time than the original, which added welcomed comic relief. I did my best not to sing along to every song 😇 and I had my Kleenex ready for those key numbers.

Definitely a night and trip to remember, always - thank you UK and Ireland!

A day at the Cliffs of Moher started out as a drizzly and windy day and just our luck, the skies opened up and the sun shone through. The North Atlantic Sea is a beautiful blue and the cliffs and views are stunning.

Then onto Derrynane Beach - our last stop on the Ring of Kerry.

“Derrynane Beach is a stunning, Blue Flag-awarded arc of white sand located on the Iveragh Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland, along the famous Ring of Kerry.”

This North Atlantic Ocean beach was absolutely spectacular! We couldn’t have asked for more - gorgeous sunny day, tide out, soft sandy shore and crystal blue water. We spent a good part of the afternoon there and loved it so much, we didn’t want to leave.

These views gave “sea-to-sky” a whole new meaning for us.

Continuing on from Ladies View to Staigue Fort - Ring of Kerry.

“One of the largest intact iron-age stone forts, or cahirs, in Ireland, one of the oldest in the country, dates from between 300 and 400 BCE.”

The landscape and the views are so magical!

On our way from Torc Falls to Ladies View - Ring of Kerry.

“Named after Queen Victoria’s ladies-in-waiting, who were deeply captivated by the panoramic scenery during a royal visit to Ireland in 1861.”

Absolutely stunning!

Quite a spot to stay at Loch Lein Country House, in Killarney - the view was magnificent - regardless of the weather. Killarney is a beautiful little city. We stayed there as our home-base to drive the Ring of Kerry.

Ate at a great pub, too, The Stonechat - and sat in the Naughty Corner! ♥️

A “good Irish dinner” in Cobh, Ireland - from light to night, we couldn’t get enough of this musician. We were so lucky 🍀to get a table table to take in the tunes and the view and welcome others to join our table. A nice way to top off the day! taken in Cobh, Ireland by @on_mayneview

🚢 A day in the historic seaport town of Cobh, Ireland, famous as the final port of call for the Titanic as well as the port where millions of Irish departed to new lands for a better life. Cork Harbour also, “is widely considered the second-largest natural harbor in the world by navigational area.”

The bay once served as a safe haven for Queen Victoria’s fleet as she ordered her ships to dock there during the Napoleonic war to avoid getting destroyed.

There was a lot of activity on the water while we were there - boats and ships coming and going, being guided and supported by pilot and tug boats.

We stayed in a charming place, West Beach House, that was once the town’s police station. The owners purchased the dilapidated building a few years ago and did extensive renovations to it - our sweet little room was on the fourth floor - lucky for us they put a lift in to the third! 🧳 taken in Cobh Port, Ireland by @on_mayneview

Waterford - Ireland’s Medieval wine capital!

Since the 13th century, Waterford was the only port that by royal decree could import wine into Ireland.

Bring in politics and then the kinds of wine you can have are dictated! Until the 14th century, Waterford primarily imported wines from France, until the conflict between English and France (1337-1453) which lasted approximately 100 years, which meant Portuguese and Spanish dominated the Waterford wine trade.

Into the Waterford’s Medieval Museum we went and discovered a choristers hall that dates back to the 1270’s. The ground floor was buried for centuries (they would build up the ground around the building to allow for burying the dead) and unearthed it before the museum opened in 2012. The building was probably used as a deanery, a place where a priest who over saw the cathedral would live.

A cute Irish town on the River Suir!

Day 2 in Dublin was so fun touring the 7 floors of the Guinness Storehouse. I’m not a beer drinker, but I loved learning about the history of the brewing company, the “top-secret” culture and process used to craft the beer, and how Dublin has been shaped by the economic, health, development and social benefits of Guinness’ influence and investment.

And of course, we had to try to “Split the G”! My reaction, haha! All thanks to @jeffzuke
