Super proud of my green fingers this year…the sun may not be out but I had to take some pics of the beauties in bloom, I don’t know half of their names but I just know how great it makes me feel to look after them and see them bloom…hydrangeas, artichokes, apple tree, lavender and some other goodies 💐 🌸 🌹 by @onceuponabuildproject

Absolutely Love the new light designed by @poulchristiansen for @le_klint_lighting. Hanging in our master bedroom, it’s like looking at a textured moon every evening by @onceuponabuildproject

A little time capsule (in an IKEA bag 🤣) went into the flint wall today. We printed some photos and wrote letters to talk about what life and the world is like in 2021! So excited to put a little piece of us into the house @leahmariep our wonderful flint specialist recommended it. I really wonder who will find it and what the world will be like then! A little video is in my story too here too @pamelalaubrown #housebuild #flintwall #flintwork #knappedflint #flint #flintstone #timecapsule #timecapaulepictures #timecapsulehouse 🧱🏡🧱🧱🥌🥌 by @onceuponabuildproject

It’s been a long time coming but the flint stone work started yesterday. Super excited to see it coming together. Flint stone is a typical stone found in the Chilterns. When we were at design stage with our architect flint was a natural choice, with a lot of timber at the front of the house this should really add more texture and something beautiful to the eye..will share more as it develops #flintwork #stonemasons #flintstone #frontofthehouse #homebuild #modernhome #selfbuild #buildingahome #stone #knappedflint #knappedflints #knappedflintwork by @onceuponabuildproject

So this bad boy is literally just sitting there waiting for me to 🔥 it up!! The wood burner is the focal point in the front room. It’s so cold outside so a perfect time. Issue is there is no other furniture in the room yet!! Really need some inspiration for this more formal front room. Any ideas let me know! #newroom #woodburner #fire #colddaysandnight #cosyup #frontroom# by @onceuponabuildproject

In the spring we will start the garden and so this garden lamp post which was here when we bought the house will see it’s last snow, so we thought what better way to remember it than recreate a little Lucy from the Lion the witch and the wardrobe waiting for Mr Tumnas! It does seem a shame to let it go but it is really in the middle of the garden which is so odd! I also need to share another great little odd thing from the old house which I ended up selling just before we started the work..will post that one later this week, until then I hope you enjoy this! #lionthewitchandthewardrobe #mrtumnas #lamppost #snow #garden #daughter #daughtetheactor #snowday #funtimes #alittlememory #mrtomlinortumnas 🤣🤣😘⛄️ 🔦 ❄️ by @onceuponabuildproject

Kitchen before and after. It’s clean and tidy which right now is a small miracle, anyone else feel like it’s constant cooking and cleaning? 🧹 🧼 🧽 @leichtkuechen #lockdownlife #newkitchen #kitchenbeforeandafter #homerenovation #housebuild #selfbuild #leichtküchen #leicht #kitchens #modernkitchen #concreteeffect #greykitchen #cleankitchen by @onceuponabuildproject

So today an old school friend @kellyts81 asked for the before pictures and I realised other than the demolition film I haven’t posted so here they are in all their glory. This was a family home to a dear family who lived there for thirty plus years and gradually as time passed it was time for my family to take up home here and shape it into modern day living space and home. We are still adjusting into it and most importantly we love it!! As I take more pics of the new house I’ll post before and after for each room #homedecor #selfbuild #familyhome #housebuild #home #villagelife #bungalow #family by @onceuponabuildproject

OMG I only told my fitness group on Sunday night whilst I had not had a glass of wine for 10 days I had eaten chocolate every night so I pledged to not have a chocolate for a week @neighbourhood_fitness and then today a dear friend @thesocialbord send me this incredible gift...this hot chocolate machine @hotelchocolat it’s absolutely insane and came with vegan friendly hot chocolate too! So I had to give it a whirl but not for me but my two little kids, they loved it and I am desperately waiting for next Sunday to give it a got myself! What do you think of it in this corner of the kitchen? 🍫 ☕️ #hotchocolate #chocolate #hotechocolate #gift #kitchen #newkitchen #housebuild #modernkitchen #modernliving #familyhouse #familyhome #veganchocolate #platbasedmilk by @onceuponabuildproject
