Something about me and my brand #marchmeetthemaker2026

ONDA means wave in Spanish 🌊

I didn’t start a brand right away — I started by teaching weaving. Watching how every stitch moved like a wave inspired the name ONDA Workshops.

Over time, I began making garments as a response to my environment, my values, and my desire to create more mindfully. ONDA slowly evolved into what it is today: a slow fashion brand where everything is made by hand using up-cycled materials.

When you support ONDA, you’re supporting every sketch, stitch, email, package, and decision made by one person.

Thank you for choosing onda 🌊☀️ taken in United Kingdom by @ondaexeter

A bit about me and how Onda 🌊 started:
My sewing journey began with a simple machine and a big love for creating. ✨ From teaching myself as a teen, to studying Fashion & Textile Design in Milan, and working with big brands, I finally followed my heart and created my own 😊 Onda. ☀️ 🌊

Every piece I make is about sustainability, authenticity, and turning ideas into reality. I don’t know exactly where this journey will take me, but I’m so glad you’re here to follow along. 🧡

in the meantime I will keep creating with intention.🫰 lots of love… taken in Exeter, Devon by @ondaexeter

Every colour combination is a little experiment, and that’s the fun of working with what I already have 🙌
Although… I’ve just realised something VERY important 🙊👀

I don’t seem to have ANY red in my scrap fabric stash. 😭😂
How is that even possible?! I think we might need to change that… eventually. But first, I have A LOT more fabric to use up! 😆
New fleeces will be available on the website this Sunday, 11th October, at 8:30 pm (UK time).
Each one is made in small batches using leftover fabrics, so once a piece is gone, I might not be able to make the exact same one again.

Thank you for reading

So… how is it going?

Slowly. 🐌

There are still soooooo many fabrics in my studio, but I’m slowly turning them into something useful instead of letting them sit there waiting for “the right project”.

And honestly, this challenge is making me look at my fabrics differently.

Instead of thinking “I need to buy this colour”, I’m trying to think:

“What can I make with what I already have?”

Sometimes it means mixing colours I wouldn’t normally put together, working with smaller pieces, or changing my original idea to make the fabric work.

It isn’t always easy, but it feels right for Onda and for the values behind my business.
I’m not perfect, and I can’t eliminate waste completely, but I’m always trying to make more conscious choices.

Thanks for watching and reading

They’re finally online. 🌊☀️
getting these pieces from my messy studio to the website has taken me much longer than I expected. 😅

There’s been a lot of photographing ( not the best pictures sos), measuring, uploading… and probably a little bit of questioning my life choices along the way. 😂

But they’re here!!!!. And I’m so happy to finally share them with you.

This drop is made up of small batch and one -off pieces, many made from remnants and rescued fabrics that were already sitting in my studio.

So once they’re gone… they’re gone!!!!!🙃

Go and have a look, find your favourite, and hopefully you’ll find something that feels very you. 🧡

ONDA is now online🤗
Thank you so much for supporting my little indie brand. 🧡

If you like what I’m making, a little heart would mean so much, and if you can share it with someone who might love onda too, I’d really appreciate it. 😊

Onda has grown in ways I never really expected. And while I’m incredibly grateful for that, the truth is… I’m still just one person. 😅
I’m the person designing everything, searching for fabrics, cutting, sewing, photographing, packing orders, answering messages, doing markets, creating content… and trying to somehow fit everything into the hours I have available in the day.

I have always struggle to keep up with my website specially this time of the year. So I’ve made the decision to close the custom orders after this drop and this will be my last website drop for a while.

🗓️ 30th September
🕖 7:00pm

There will be a collection of fleeces I’ve been making in the studio, including some one-off and limited pieces made from fabrics I already have.

And if you’ve been thinking about a custom order, this is your moment to get in touch before I close them!!!

After that, I’ll still be making!!! just at my own pace, and you’ll be able to find ONDA at some of my events and winter markets.

It’s a little scary to make this decision, but it also feels like the right one.

I’d rather make less, make slowly, and enjoy what I’m doing :)

Thank you for being here, for buying handmade, for following along, and for giving me the freedom to build ONDA in a way that feels right to me. 🧡

See you on the 30th.

I’ve had a few people asking when I’ll next be doing an event in Exeter… and the truth is, it’s not until November! 😆

So I thought… why wait?

I’m opening my studio for a little ONDA Open Studio on Wednesday 30th September. 🧡

It’ll be very simple, just my messy studio, some clothes, fabrics everywhere, and a chance to come and have a look, try things on and say hello.

If you’ve ever wanted to see where ONDA actually happens, this is your chance. 🧵

I’ll have some sweatshirts, fleeces, trousers, caps and more available to try on.

No pressure to buy anything. Come for a look, a chat, a try on and a nose around my little world. 😊

Wednesday 30th September
📍 Emmanuel Hall, Emmanuel rd, Exeter. EX4 1EJ
🕐 10:00 - 14:00

Save the date
I’d love to see you!

Sometimes I honestly wonder why I make things this way. 😅

I could make it so much easier for myself if I just bought new fabric, cut the pieces throw those “leftovers” and carried on.

Buuuut instead, I’m here moving pieces of fabric around my table, trying to work out if I can squeeze a sleeve out of that tiny bit… or a waistband from what’s left… or maybe I can mix two different fabrics together and make it work 😅🙃. sometimes I’m tempted to just give up and make it easier for myself.🙊
Because this takes more time.
A LOOOOOTTTTT more time!!!!

I know big companies don’t have to work like this, I know because I work for two long time ago. They order insane amount of fabric and what they don’t used sadly goes to waste 😪❤️‍🩹

Anyway that’s not really what ONDA is about.

I want to use what already exists. I want to give these fabrics another life. And I want to make things in a way that feels right to me, even when it takes longer.

My values are stronger than the temptation to make things easier. 🧡🧡🧡

Thanks for being here and reading my little thoughts.

A little glimpse into life behind ONDA lately… 🧡

Fleeces coming together in the studio, little ones wearing them out and about, fabrics being turned into something new, and all those little moments in between. 🌊😊
I’ve had a few people asking when I’m doing my next event in Exeter. The truth is, it won’t be until the end of November 🙌🙌🙌

So I’ve been organising with them to come and visit, so I was thinking to open this day for anyone who wants to come and visit! just my messy and a chance to come and have a look, try things on and say hello. 🧡

I’ll share all the details in a post later this week so you can save the date and plan if you’d like to come.

I’d absolutely love to see you here!

Today was one of those simple little days that I really love. 🧡
I went for a walk with Tamata 🐶, stopped for a coffee, and then popped into my friends @devonopenstudios

They always have the loveliest things, and honestly… I could have bought half the shop. 😂 But I managed to be sensible and came home with this little handmade hair stick 🫶 It was made by Ali @alitaylorspoons who makes beautiful wooden pieces, including wooden spoons, and I just loved it 🤌

In my walk got me thinking about supporting small businesses as… sometimes we think supporting someone means buying something, but it doesn’t always have to.
Now with social media we can really help in other ways as a like, a comment, sharing their work and sometimes, simply telling someone about a small business is enough to bring them a new customer.
Some of my own customers have found Onda because a friend told them about me, and honestly, that kind of word-of-mouth support means so much!!! It’s the most genuine recommendation I could ask for. 🧡
Thank you for supporting ONDA 🌊☀️

and yes… I’m very happy with my £5 hair stick. 😆🧡
