Swiss Creator Lab in Schlieren

Still buzzing from the final set at @swisscreatorlab in Schlieren.
I couldn’t make it to all the stations, but I did make it to @murielrieben set. And honestly… what a concept, what a vibe.
A shallow water pool, a backlight piercing through the mist, another light with a grid above, one more sidelight shaping the form, minimal setup, maximum impact. She spoke about her fascination with cinematic scenes, the power of simplicity, and the stories light can tell.

I had just chatted with her about her spontaneous Tesla photo shoot (that crazy cybercar chasing in the desert moment) and that energy definitely followed me into the set.

Blade Runner meets brutalism. Akira meets Akropolis.

In my head: synths, slow motion, soft chaos.

The model, @teckybecky_ what a powerhouse. Martial artist. Stuntwoman. Dancer. Her presence was electric. Every pose, every move felt like a frame from a forgotten future.

Huge thanks to @swisscreatorlab and everyone behind the scenes for pulling off such a mind-opening event.

Two bodies of work.
One conversation.

At photoSCHWEIZ 26, I’m showing Devadasi and Theertham | two series shaped by ritual, movement, memory, and diaspora.

One explores the body through gesture and presence.
The other observes a temple ritual in Glattbrugg.

What interests me is not nostalgia, but what remains.
Between origin and the present.
Between collective memory and a personal gaze.

BRUTAL GRACE
London, 1 August.

I spent the day with @hashnasiva’s for a shoot and in the afternoon we went over to the Royal National Theatre with @tabbyosullivan_. I love these buildings and wanted to see how a body looks against all that grey concrete. Some frames I kept in black and white, some I pushed into red.

A beautiful weekend in @grindelwald_eiger , Switzerland with @swisscreatorlab, full of good energy and an amazing group of people to create with.

We arrived on Saturday morning and were welcomed so warmly right away. From there we hiked up to First and Bachalpsee, where @melourra had prepared a beautiful shoot for us. Everything was thought through down to the last detail, and at the same time she was always open to our ideas and gave us great tips along the way. The two models @nadiachrin & @olchiflo were incredibly charming and natural, which made it so easy to capture beautiful images up there.

For these shots I used my Fujifilm X-H2 with a Sirui Anamorphic 1.33x 50mm lens, borrowed from my good friend @chris_reist . I fell in love with that lens completely, and I can’t wait to shoot more with it soon, including some couple sessions.

Thank you to the whole crew for such a great day in the mountains, Grindelwald never disappoints. More to come soon.

A study of a modern deity, placed in a modern city, inspired by the world of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.

We wanted to imagine what something mythological and timeless might look like today, surrounded by concrete, harsh light and the scale of a city rather than a temple.

The Royal National Theatre gave us exactly that: brutalist architecture, strong geometry and enough shadow to build the images around. We deliberately shot during the harshest part of the day, with the sun directly overhead, allowing the shadows to become part of the composition rather than something to avoid.

We only had around two hours for the entire shoot, in the middle of the London heat, but it came together exactly how we imagined it.

And most importantly, this shoot was such a special collaboration with @sakira.vel .

After spending time together on the other film project, it was really nice to step outside that environment and create something completely different together.

Sakira brought sooooo much energy, openness and trust into the shoot. She was always willing to try something, move differently, experiment with an idea or simply go with the moment. That made the whole process feel incredibly natural.

What I enjoyed most was that it didn’t feel like I was simply photographing a model. It felt like the two of us were building the character and the story together. There was a lot of laughing between takes, trying things that didn’t work, finding things that did, and constantly pushing the images a little further.

Her presence really shaped this series, and I’m genuinely grateful we got the chance to create something together outside of the film.

RED FREQUENCY

Stepping into a world I knew almost nothing about.

100 dancers. Heavy bass. Red and blue light cutting through the haze. A room full of movement that never stopped for a second.

What I enjoyed most wasn’t just taking photos. It was learning to see differently. To slow down, observe, experiment, fail, adjust, and try again.

A huge thank you to @swisscreatorlab , @alexverhalle the entire team @foto_zumstein @modul8.ch and @sony.schweiz for creating a space where creativity comes first. Having the opportunity to test different cameras and lenses while being surrounded by so much energy was something special.

These images are my first attempt at translating that atmosphere into photographs.

BTS - CHIAROSCURO

Behind the scenes from our Chiaroscuro shoot.

Even with a strong concept and clear ideas before the shoot, so much still evolves in the moment. That constant exchange on set, trying things out together, reacting to the light, the styling, the movement and building on each other’s ideas is what makes projects like this so exciting for me.

Very grateful for this team. The professionalism, the trust, the energy and the atmosphere on set were honestly something special from beginning to end.
