Helping animals get adopted, One Best Day at a time❤️

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🐾 Hey guys — we’re Mike & Erin ❤️

Honestly, One Best Day started pretty simply…

We love animals, probably an unhealthy amount 😂 We’ve got our dogs Mim & Archie and our rescue cat Simon, and if you’re anything like us, seeing animals not being treated with the same love and care we give our own absolutely breaks your heart.

The truth is, we kept thinking…

“If we can make even one animal feel safe, loved, and special — why wouldn’t we?”

So that’s what we’re doing.

Giving shelter dogs adventures, love, treats, attention, and the kind of care every animal deserves.

Because no animal should ever feel forgotten or unloved.

We’re figuring this out as we go, but if you love animals as much as we do, we’d love to have you here. Welcome to the Paw Pals 🐶❤️

Every animal deserves to feel loved — and we’ll keep doing our part, one best day at a time. 🐾

Oh you want a pure bred? Theres TONS at the shelter, mostly kind of, a bit. But even if they’re not all pure breeds, they’re just as good and special and deserving

Also… the vast majority of purebred dog are inbred which means less diversity, more susceptible to genetic issues and more likely to develop cancer, organ failure and have shorter lifespans…
Something to consider when picking your new best friend

He’s a crazy boy! But not really.
I see so many visceral reactions from people entering the adoption floor, which you honestly cant blame when confronted with 80+ dogs acting like this.
Don’t let kennel behavior stop you from bringing a best friend home!
Corporal Cuddles is a fun, cuddly boy who loves to play and run and give LOTS of kisses. He waiting for a best friend at

One of the pupdates we’ve all been waiting for, Cookie has found her forever home, here is her update directly from the shelter:

🎉 Good news, everyone—COOKIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!! 🎉

Oh my goodness, we are so excited to share this amazing news! 🥹❤️

Her new family came in with their dog specifically to meet Cookie and see if they would be a good match. Morgan did their appointment, and everything went wonderfully, so they moved forward with a meet-and-greet.

The meet-and-greet went amazing! Their dog is a little older and was understandably a bit nervous, but we’re confident that with time, patience, and proper introductions, the two of them will become great friends. 🐶❤️

Cookie is going to an amazing home with a fenced-in yard, and her new family also has a younger daughter who we’re sure will have lots of fun playing with her!

Cookie is so happy and excited to be heading home with her new family. We couldn’t be happier for this sweet chunky girl and wish her and her family a lifetime of love and happiness! 🏡🐾

Her heartworm treatment funds will go directly toward the vet Bill when her new owner contacts us, we are so thankful for everybody who helped us reach the goal.

Lots of different friend groups at the @escambiacountyanimalwelfare play groups!

A great way to socialize, reduce stress and assess personality is to get the dogs in a big group together.

It ticks a lot of the boxes for their well-being and enrichment, as well as giving staff and volunteers a better idea of who each dog is, to relay the information to adopters.

If you are visiting Escambia County Animal Welfare between 1pm and 4 PM on certain weekdays, you can see some of the dogs in play for yourself
